Incredible what people do in order to get your money, Jeff. QuickTime plugin is free. Of course, they try to sell what they call QuickTime Pro, that has more functions. Anyway, I converted it now to Flash. I guess you have the Flash plugin in your browser. Try this: http://home.online.no/~michel/tmp/Fjorden.html Anway, it's not a very interesting video. I have only a tiny Sony camera with limited video ability. But the sky was so nice with the low clouds and the sun piercing through them ... of course, it is not half as nice once on the video but ... as a pilot you'll know how to adjust for it! :-) Cheers, Michel Verheughe Norway Kitfox 3 - Jabiru 2200 do not archive

John, I don't recall reading any of your posts before. Welcome. Could you please quote some of those "little-girl catty attacks"? Or some of the "EVIL" remarks you refer to? I would like to see pics of how you did it. I also have a flatbed trailer that came with my plane and have thought about constructing an enclosure on it. -- Rex Hefferan SE Colorado / K-II / 582-C / still waiting repairs vetdrem wrote: > >I bought my kitfox because I winter in Florida, spring and fall are in Arkansas, and summer in Michigan and I needed a plane that I could take with me. My plane came on an open, flatbed trailer that would carry it down the road, but not provide much protection, I built a framework out of conduit, and covered it with a tarp that is designed for covering lumber on semis. It has worked great for about 2500 miles so far, and the plane has been "hangered" in it here in Florida for the last three months. It takes about five minutes to roll it out using the 12 volt winch that I installed. I haven't noticed any corrosion or other ill effects from leaving it in the trailer. Of course, it isn't air tight, and it isn't as secure as a rigid sided trailer would be, but has sure worked well for me. The airport charges $30 per month to leave the trailer in a tiedown spot, (beats $$$$ for hanger fees). I can probably take some pics if you are interested. > >Louie > >

Deke, I try my best to either skip the nonsense or forget it ASAP. The last one that comes to mind is the one where a pilot griped about being attacked at his local airport for making landings at each runway (touch and go) and the local AH complained that he was an unsafe pilot. Then everyone on the list jumped in and debated whether or not he was an unsafe pilot because he was landing at all the runways. That example is typical of what I'm talking about. I really don't believe that there's any pilot on the list who cares about that type of nonsense. No one is going to change their flying attitude because of all the little girl chatter about their perception of what constitutes good practice (insofar as it is merely nonconstructive criticism). Debate is good if it doesn't fall into the category of nit-picking. My comment here did not relate to Guy's apology other than to say to everyone out there "THICKEN YOUR SKIN!" NO APOLOGY NECESSARY!Part of the problem here is that we run out of technical questions so we devolve into personal junk. Then some get offensive about that. Giant waste of time. Think KITFOX, not $%ITFOX. <<<John, I don't recall reading any of your posts before. Welcome. Could you please quote some of those "little-girl catty attacks"? Today I used an inspection mirror and set the spacing on the trigger coils which make up the ignition system. My mag drop is now 110 per side and 10 difference. Interesting. My 912UL drops 250 which always seemed marginal to me. Could you elaborate a little on the process you're describing? Yes but the interesting point is that you can clearly see that it is one of the blades that hit the mast. Now, I am not sure I understand this: A prop blade is shaped like a wing profile, right? The faster it spins ... it should be pulled >>away<< from the mast ... shouldn't it? Michel, in the case of the wind generator the wind is turning the prop which is facing into the wind. Think about it. The short take off cub is the "Carbon Cub" built by Cub crafters as a one off with one purpose...win the Valdez short take off contest which it did at 19 feet. The blade that hit the pylon was not the first blade to depart. It's really interesting in slow motion. The 1st blade departs and is hit by the 2nd blade. At the same time, the whole thing nods down around 45 degrees and the 3rd blade impacts the pylon and departs. Gyroscopic effect in play. I flew gyroplanes for some years, and similar things happen when a rotorblade departs. Off it goes, but the remaining one will typically eat the fuslage as it destroys itself and all attached. All this is pretty off topic though. The STOL takeoffs are just amazing. Man.. in his own fuslage length. That's cool! John Alexander Ordering a Series 7 in a couple weeks. Now, I am not sure I understand this: A prop blade is shaped like a wing profile, right? The faster it spins ... it should be pulled >>away<< from the mast ... shouldn't it? > > Cheers, > Michel Verheughe > Norway > Kitfox 3 - Jabiru 2200 > > Do not archive > > >
> > >
