I've come to the same conclusion, Gary. While the 582 was a great engine, it changed
much from winter to summer. With the Jabiru, I see the same temperatures
and pressure all year round. That is: the oil pressure can get very high when
the engine starts in the winter. But once warmed up and in the air, everything
is the same, winter or summer. Maybe it's only an illusion but seeing all the
dials at exactly the same place gives a feeling of confidence.

      Cheers,

Mine's on a triangular aluminum frame attached at 3 points by adel clamps to structural
tubing just behind the seat, shoulder high at the midline. Peel the nylon
cover up and there it is!

Hi Frank, here in MN the boating, snowmobile and classic car groups lobbied and
got Premium (91 oct.) exempted from ethanol, you might check with petroleum distributors
in your area there many be non ethanol fuel availble.
      Good luck.

Did you glue them right on or double stick carpet tape? I also would like to know
how you selected a placement pattern at the 5.1" location. And what about the
Hoz Stab how far back are they and do they follow the contour of the L/E of
the Stab kind a swept back.
I was interested in putting them on the 4 since the field I fly out of is only
about 1000' plus over run. My friend gets in a 800' field with trees on both
ends but it is tricky. They would really help him eat up less ground if he could
fly that slow (30 pus 10 mph for safety still is really good) Waiting for the
      new numbers once you post.

No such luck here. Oregon, Washington, Idaho, all of the fuels are now laced
with ethanol. I was under the impression that Washington was to make some
fuel available without but if it is, no one wants to carry it! If anyone is
burning ethanol, what has been your experience?

Have you all read anything on Swift Enterprises? They have developed an
avgas that replaces 100ll at half the price. I don't know how to put their link

on here so just Google Swift enterprises and check it out. There was an
interview on AvWeb today that was pretty impressive. Don

I used the Harrison Designs Instructions and he says 8 to 12% of the wing. That includes Flaperons in the Kitfox. He also said the Kitfox works well with 10% so I didn't want to do any moving or testing VG's. I put them on with Loctite 401. I held them for about 15 secs and they are on FOREVER, including fingers if your not careful. I made lines with a soft pencil on the wings with the template and then placed the VG's on each line. I put the VG's on the Horiz Stablilizer about 2" in front of the hinges. Harrison Designs website www.landshorter.com is helpful and there is are a few more out there with installation procedures. Do a (VG's +Kitfox) in Google and you will get a lot of hits Including YouTube movies of VG's in action.

I put 64 VG's on each wing. The instructions called for at least 50. My takeoff
distance was always very short and its about the same as is my cruise speed.
A lot smoother takeoff and landing and greater climb rate.

      Good Luck

We have one place that has ethanol free gas here in Hawaii but it's only 89
octane. I haven't tried it in my Rotax but my classic cars and street rods
make it home now without quitting. I did had a low fuel sensor melt because of

ethanol. Fortunately my Vixen was on the ground when it went or all my fuel
would have been in the belly! Beware!!!
