    UV blocker on the fabric needs to be refreshed a couple times a year IMO. These get alot of wear etc from walking on them.     Rick, the plane came in at 833 lbs. My problem with long test period was high oil temps and a vibration at high RPM's, and the plane is 50 miles from home. I did a bunch of short flights, maybe 15 at no more than 30 minutes trying different mods to lower oil temps. I had pitched my prop for 5200 static. Some one suggested it might be too flat, so I repitched it for lower rpm. Still need to adjust, but I'm only getting 4800 at takeoff. However oil temps dropped dramatically, speed increased, and rate of climb increased. I'm seeing consistently 105 to 110 mph (no pants, but strut fairings), and 1100 fpm climb at density altitudes of 2100 common in summer here. But you know I have more fun cruising around the North Georgia mountains at 60. I plan on slowly changing pitch to see what happens. (by the way it is a warp drive tapered tip, I believe 72 in,) Ironically my DAR assigned me 25 hours. I questioned this, but he said I had an approved prop and engine combination. Most people I have discussed this with say I'm legal after 25 hours, but I'm not convinced. So I'm taking it to 40 hours. I have about thirty and no that I have most issues solved it should go real quick. Yes I'm going to OSH. Driving up Sunday and leaving Thursday. Woodstock is 35 miles NE of Atlanta.     David,=C2- I have the same engine/prop combination so I'm finding this particularly int eresting. =C2-I also have the bump cowl and the Earl's oil cooler which is upfront under the engine, partially hidden by the cowl. =C2-Is yours simi lar? =C2- High oil temp seems to be a common issue on early flights. =C2 -I test flew my friend's Model IV (40 hour test period) but we had EGT pro blems. =C2-Turns out the probes were too close to the exhaust valves, we m oved them and the readings became normal - there never was a problem with th e temps themselves. =C2-=C2-We expected oil temp problems, but it didn't seem to be an issue for us - we were lucky I guess. =C2-It sounds like yo ur airplane is performing real good. =C2- I'll be at Oshkosh the whole time. =C2-If you make it to Aeroshell square look for the Aeroshell coach (an ugly old RV) parked right next to the road parallel to the flight line, and ask around for me. =C2-I'l be there quite often, especially late in the afternoon each day. =C2-I'd like to say hey ! My problem with long test period was high oil temps and a vibration at high RPM's, and the plane is 50 miles from home.=2 0I did a bunch of short flights, maybe 15 at no more than 30 minutes trying different mods to lower oil temps. I had pitched my prop for 5200 static. So me one suggested it might be too flat, so I repitched it for lower rpm. Still n eed to adjust, but I'm only getting 4800 at takeoff. However oil temps dropped dramatically, speed increased, and rate of climb increased. I'm seeing consistently 105 to 110=C2- mph (no pants, but strut fairings), and 1100 f pm climb at density altitudes of 2100 common in summer here. But you know I hav e more fun cruising around the North Georgia mountains at 60. I plan on slowly changing pitch to see what happens. (by the way it is a warp drive tapered t ip, I believe 72 in,) Ironically my DAR assigned me 25 hours. I questioned this, but he said I had an approved prop and engine combination. Most people I have discussed this with say I'm legal after 25 hours, but I'm not convinced. So I'm taking it to 40 hours. I have about thirty and no that I have most issues so lved it should go real quick. =C2- Yes I'm going to OSH. Driving up Sunday and leaving Thursday.
