I have tried every fuel line route possible from the wing to the panel and have come to the conclusion that there is no good way to route it above the door and down to the panel tank. I end up in almost knife flight to drain the last two gallons out of the wing. > > I think I will go back to the down under the seat and back up route. Tom, I agree. I have a shut off on each wing tank then they meet at a "T". Right after that is a facet fuel pump. I have a switch to turn that on and it quickly pumps the wing tank into the dash tank. ABout 2 litres or 5 US gal. The pump is to quicken the flow rate only , the pitot pressure will transfer the fuel from the wingtank to the dash tank at a rate higher that the burn rate. Works well for me and with independat tank controls , I can dump one tank at a time. My fuel flow meter ( NAVMAN 2100 is very accurate) and just another accessory that helps fuel management. One thing I do not do is transfer fuel during take off in the event that air some how got forced into the fuel line to the gascolator. That's ok though...my turn is coming :-) I never had any problem that required a forced approach with the 582 but the eth does concern me a bit. Looks like you had a perfect day and a forced approach wouldn't have been a problem from your altitude. Glad to see you have your boots on again! Back to looking at the rest of the videos now. It was painted a neon yellow with metallic blue scallops. It was named "Special Effects". The biplane wings are now gone and it has a custom high wing. I'll get pictures on in a couple of days. Also the fuel burn seems a bit less ( about 1/2 gallon /hour) less and with more power. The pipe is very tight inside the cowl but it works well. power band starts about 4800 to 5200 rpm. I am keeping it conservative to ensure the engine has a long life. A 582 you can get about 80 hp out of but life will be shortened and fuel burn would go up. Rotax exhaust makes the 582 run a bit rich with the Mods that Skystar did to the exhaust and hence it had likely about 56 to 58 HP i figure. I would figure that I am around 65 to 68 hp here. -------- Rotax Dealer, Ontario Canada Flying Videos and Kitfox Info http://www.cfisher.com/ Realtime Kitfox movies to separate the internet chatter from the truth http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=kitfoxflyer Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p 2604#202604 ________________________________ Message 8 _____________________________________ Time: 08:41:04 PM PST US From: "The Eathertons" Subject: RE: Kitfox-List: Re: Kitfox Fly in and Dan Denney I saw the bi-plane version one night late on some unknown website and have never found it again.
