Anyone have any opinions? Good deal, or stay away?

      That's got to be a record for a IV. I wonder if it's a miss-print.
Even with the bigger engine I don't see how you could add 230# to what I have.

Well, being experimental you can spec the gross weight at anything
you want. I wonder if it's certified at 1200 or 1320?

Andrew=2C Looks like a good deal. The seller has a very good history of rel
ated sales. I have a 582 with only 100 hrs on it. I contemplated buying the
rebuild kit myself=2C But=2C my engine is such low time=2C I would probabl
y forget where I put it when I needed it.

Stay away from it. I got suckered into it, as did a buddy of mine.

They are single ring pistons from a 583 snowmobile engine. At 3 hrs the rings
failed on akflyerbobs. We pulled the engine down and the rings had NO spring
left in them. They looked good when they went into the engine. The cylinders
were precision honed and the ring end gap was fine. After the break in and a
little over an hour in the air, I noticed a loss of power especially at takeoff.
I made a quick turn around the airport at less than half the pattern altitude
and got her back on the ground. I shut it down and jumped out and gave the
prop a spin by hand and I may as well have had a turbine in the nose, there
      was virtually no compression.
