Thanks Mike ! My first car was a TR3 when I was 18. Nostalgia thing for me
now. I restored both and the Stag. Will sell the Stag and probably get another
project. Car or plane ,don't know yet. I have a 'hankering" for a 701 or maybe
a project Kitfox to install a Rotec.

Kirk,
Do yourself a favor and contact Merle Willaiams at
_murlewilliamsaviation.com_ (murlewilliamsaviation.com) . He has the proper aviation
fittings for your
engine and will know what you need. I had to do the same thing. Here is an
example on my oil cooler. The fitting on the far side (which you cant' see)
reverses itself 180 degress in a very short space. It would have kinked a hose
I
then had to run a very short hose piece (about 3 ") then into a special fitting
into the oil pump. Merle had all these pieces and knew exactly what I was
talking about.

Subject: | Re: leaking fuel inside the wing |
> They are fiberglass tanks, 2 x 6 gal. I have pretty much come to the conclusion
that replacing them is the thing to do, especially since the new tanks are
ethanol resistant so that opens up more fueling options. My primary concern is
the fabric repair that will accompany the tank replacement. Will I still need
to take off the wings? Am I just better off getting an A&P to do it? I don't
really feel like purchasing all the stuff to start spraying paint right now, especially
not if I have to dish out about a grand for new tanks.
If you determine that the tanks need to be replaced, the original tank style would
be the easiest. The wings would need to come off. two people can easily
take the wings off.
I use a board padded on one end to prop up the wing tip, my wife holds on to the
wing tip while I take the strut off and remove the wing to fuselage attach bolts
from the spars. Then we slide the wing off the attach lugs and set it on
a sawhorse rack. I guess the wings weigh about 50 pounds each.
Cut the fabric next to the tank top edges, and bottom edges if the fabric is attached
to the tank bottom. Use fishing line to cut the RTV between the tank and
spars and out the tank comes.
You could then install the new tank and take the wing to someone who can replace
the fabric over the tank bay.

This is the way I did it. Just a small aluminum plate I attached with 4 #
6 or #4 screws (can't remember which) so that I could remove it or increase
the tab size if I needed to. I had to adjust the bend a couple of times bu
t now it is spot on (as the British would say). I have a picture from my fi

Subject: Kitfox-List: Oil Fitting
Hello Kitfoxers,
Does anybody have a part number for an oil fitting that screws into the oil
intake side (oil pump inlet) of the Rotax 912, and the other thread end goes
to an Earl's fitting? I have one from an auto parts store that claims it is
37 degrees (aviation) as opposed to the 40 degree automotive. Mine leaks and
I think the fitting on the engine is not the same angle as the Earl's
fittings.
Thanks,

Good Morning List,
As some may know the original Model IV through 6 flaperons
were no longer available for reasons that were out of our control. We have
changed that and have re-tooled so we can offer that style flaperon.

I wouldn't try to load the web site.
<http://www.murlewilliamsaviation.com/>
According to AVG's web shield, the site is blocked because of it's association
with
www.sonoragraphics.com. Here's the exact message I get:
Multiple threat detection:
"www.sonoragraphics.com/williamsaviation/";"Exploit Link to known exploit site";""
Phoning him is probably best as I don't think he frequents his computer for e-mail.
Merle Williams' phone: 602-978-0553
In order to look into this a little further, I used wget (in Linux) to contact
the site:
# wget http://www.murlewilliamsaviation.com/

Resolving www.murlewilliamsaviation.com... done.

That resulted in saving the opening page which does redirection to senoragraphics:

I didn't receive any exploits when I probed but that service has a poor reputation

Is the MIL 6000 OIL hose from Aircraft Spruce acceptable for use in the 912 oil
system? It costs about 5 bucks per foot and is rubber covered, unlike the
oil hose that came with the 912 which had some kind of fabric covering embedded
into the surface.
thanks,
Clem
