Paul sez: >I wouldn't try to load the web site. ><http://www.murlewilliamsaviation.com/> There's nothing wrong with the site, Paul. The hosting service where the site is located (StartLogic.com) had quite a few of their accounts compromised not long ago. They sent out notifications to account holders, passwords and authentication methods have been changed, and the sites re-loaded. Google was notified of the problem but they are not very fast in revisiting sites that have been cleaned up. Mine does, but I had lowered my panel for visibility and sawed the (now) interfering, excess length off the stick. I then adjusted the travel so the stick almost hits the seats when going for climb position. Leonard, That is the only picture I have of my toys together. I sold "the death trap" and I do have to say I sure miss it! What a great cross country airplane! The higher wing loading sure made for a more comfortable ride in the winds we have been having! I do fly my Kitfox a lot more though, probably because 4 gal per hour vs 8 is easier to live with and in reality I think the Kitfox is more fun for local flying plus I have made a lot of improvements on the Fox that make it even better. I was going to sell one of my TR3's but I can't part with it as it is just to much fun to drive so I am going to take it to my cabin in North Carolina leave it there, and drive the (please excuse me) mountains. I grew up in Colorado so maybe I should say hills but it is the best we have in this part of the country and they are very pretty! Mike, I get a Virus warning when I attempt to open Merle's website, http://www.murlewilliamsaviation.com . Your website, www.sonargraphics.com , does not produce any warnings. My website had a similar problem to Merle's. I got with the hosting folks and literally had to remove some of the Javascript graphics in the index.html file to rectify the situation because they were infected with a Trojan. It appears that Merle's website has the same Trojan - JS:Agent-BA [Trj]- as mine had. It appears that the file, http://www.sonoragraphics.com/williamsaviation/ is the file that is producing the first warning. I didn't let the site open even that file, so my Avast! Antivirus didn't check any further, In my case the Trojan had spread to some archives in the website directory as well. It took less than 24 hours for Google to show it clean after I initiated the request for them to re-check the site after cleanup. Subject: Re: New Forum
Dave: I had a look at the new site and I think there are a lot of things being done right. First of all the name is easy to remember. Second; they do have all the manuals for the Rotax engines in a nice easy to follow tables that include the dates of updates. No following a line of links only to find yourself back where you started. Hey you can look up data without leaving the site or the forum. This is obviously a growing concern and I expect to see prop manuals, electrical fittings etc to eventually appear. Although the name says Rotax aircraft I see there are planes there with many other power plants... So no one is left out.. As I said before Love 'em or not the name/URL "rotaxaircraft" is easy to remember. As you know I love my little 'Fox but I'm also interested in fling wings ( Gyros and Copters) I see they have a new forum for those aircraft as well. That is one area I hope takes off as well as weight shift classification. Too bad I can't afford more toys :-( I think an auto gyro is made for photography! I have started building a mold around my engine to extend the Townsend ring which is way too short to cover my new installation. I'm building up the form with papier mache and will finish it off with a thin coat of Poly-Filler which I can wax well and glass the extention right on to the existing cowl pieces. I'm thinking about glassing the upper and lower halves together as I can access the engine from the rear cowl easily and doing that will make installing some air baffles a little easier. The down side is any time I want to remove it the prop will have to come off first. What's you take on this idea?
