Overhaul kits can be purchased at any reputable auto parts dealer or Subaru dealer. Most of the EA81s came from the Subaru Brat, if that helps. I poked through my files and finally found an email address for Don Lorenzen, but no phone number. Sorry this took so long. Also someone made a metal piece to hold the front seal in, I think his name is Don Lorenzen and I am looking for his phone number. After a day or two I noticed that the lines seemed to have gotten longer, so I did a test. Immersing a 3" long piece of fuel line in fuel for 48 hours caused it to grow to 3 1/8" long. I put a piece of Gates SAE 30R7 in with it, and it grew by exactly the same amount. Fortunately, the ID increased as well, so I am not immediately concerned that it will restrict the fuel flow, but clearly, the fuel is infiltrating the rubber. The fuel I'm running right now is 50% 100LL, 50% 91 octane autogas and the appropriate amount of Decalin. There is no measurable ethanol in the mix. It's been warm here, so I did a control test to see if temperature would cause expansion and contraction. I put a second 3" sample of each brand in the refrigerator for 48 hours. No change in the length of either one. Has anyone experienced this. -------- Jim Feldmann, 3rd owner 1994 Kitfox IV Speedster / 912 Working on my Sport Pilot Certificate Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=243049#243049 ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 01:21:22 PM PST US From: Kitfox George Subject: Re: Kitfox-List: Fuel line growing You-should use-the Goodyear 30R9 if your using gas with ethanol.--H as special blue lining for all types of fuel.George =0A=0A=0ASport Model - 914 / finished painting 5/1/09=0Ado not archive =0A=0A=0A=0A=0A____________ ____________________=0AFrom: Jim Feldmann =0ATo: k itfox-list@matronics.com=0ASent: Thursday, May 7, 2009 11:12:57 AM=0ASubjec Jim Feldmann" =0A=0AI just replaced all of the fle xible fuel lines (wing tanks to header and firewall forward) with new Goody ear SAE 30R7 rubber fuel line.- After a day or two I noticed that the lin es seemed to have gotten longer, so I did a test.- =0A=0AImmersing a 3" l ong piece of fuel line in fuel for 48 hours caused it to grow to 3 1/8" lon g.- I put a piece of Gates SAE 30R7 in with it, and it grew by exactly th e same amount.- Fortunately, the ID increased as well, so I am not immedi ately concerned that it will restrict the fuel flow, but clearly, the fuel is infiltrating the rubber.=0A=0AThe fuel I'm running right now is 50% 100L L, 50% 91 octane autogas and the appropriate amount of Decalin.- There is no measurable ethanol in the mix.=0A=0AIt's been warm here, so I did a con trol test to see if temperature would cause expansion and contraction.- I put a second 3" sample of each brand in the refrigerator for 48 hours.- No change in the length of either one.=0A=0AHas anyone experienced this.=0A =0A--------=0AJim Feldmann, 3rd owner=0A1994 Kitfox IV Speedster / 912=0AWo rking on my Sport Pilot Certificate=0A=0A=0A=0A=0ARead this topic online he re:=0A=0Ahttp://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=243049#243049=0A=0A =========================0A ================= ________________________________ Message 4 _____________________________________ Time: 04:01:53 PM PST US Subject: Kitfox-List: Re: Fuel line growing From: "akflyer" would be nice it you could get the fuel line to stay the game and have the gas levels in the tank increase like that lol -------- DO NOT ARCHIVE Leonard Perry aka SNAKE Soldotna AK Avid "C" / Mk IV 582 IVO IFA Full Lotus 1260 #1 snake oil salesman since 1-22-2009 hander outer of humorless darwin awards Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=243084#243084 ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 08:30:58 PM PST US Subject: Kitfox-List: Looking for Ultraprop From: "AKFLYERBOB" I'm wanting to find an ultraprop with Brolga blades I'm running one on my kitfox mod 1 and works great with 582 3X1. the brolga is 68" X3 blade I want the same thing when I finish the mod 3.
