For your information, Jabiru has now come with a service bulletin that says their engine can run with up to 10 percent ethanol. But they warn that those who have a Jabiru aircraft with the brown-coloured fuel tanks cannot use ethanol containing fuel. However, the later tanks, that are whitish in colour, can use ethanol. When asked how they treated those tanks, apparently they use Kreem. Disclaimer: Heresay on the Jabiru list. Myself, I keep to Avgas. More expensive, here in Norway, but safer until I know more. The funny thing is that, when I lost consciousness in the ambula nce, last year, it felt pretty much like when my son and I recovered from a deep dive in a Blanik glider, years ago. Hola, Jos=E9! Funny you should ask; a couple of weeks ago, we went flying a nd I was in the right hand seat. Back home I said I'll do the landing; some thing I had never done from the right hand seat. It went ... well but we en ded in the runway's shoulder on the right side. I had to yell at him to bra ke. He forgot that I didn't had brakes on the right hand side pedals. Right hand seat flying is okay but you need to train for it. have you gone ? Hi Jan That is the way to deal with such things. If you want to compare apples with apples definitions are necessary. With regard to the question about 4 stroke or 2 stroke engines (Rotax): the difference lays in the carburettor, I think. The 4 stroke engines use CV carburettors which compensate for the altitude, at least partly. Heinz

michel, for as long as it is available i will use only avgas. i will worry about an ethanol proof float when and if the time comes. can anyone recommend an epoxy that will stand up to 100ll? bob noffs On Fri, May 22, 2009 at 2:08 AM, Michel Verheughe <michel@online.no> wrote: > > From: Noel [noelloveys@yahoo.ca] > > The first link did not say anything about ethanol. > > For your information, Jabiru has now come with a service bulletin that says > their engine can run with up to 10 percent ethanol. Michel:=0A=0ASeems to me like it is time to install right side brakes.- O nce my ex-Kitfox new owner installed right side brakes, it became straight forward to fly it from the right seat.- My first plane (Rans S4)-is a s ingle seater with the throttle in the left hand.- I agree it requires tra ning in order to be safe.=0A=0ASaludos!=0A=0AJos=E9=0A=0A=0AHola, Jos=E9! have you gone ? Right, real test have to be don on calm days, and result have to be plotted to standard atmosphere. the HAC ? system is available for 2 stroke carbs, don't know how high they will compensate, (if there is any limits) Jan ----- Original Message ----- From: "Heinz Lang" <hlang@bluewin.ch> Sent: Friday, May 22, 2009 10:50 AM Subject: Re: Kitfox-List: Re: Kitfox - how high have you gone ?Kitfox - how high have you gone ? > > > Hi Jan > That is the way to deal with such things. Here's an update. I received the spruce 2" snap vents http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/snapvents.php yesterday. I tested in a scrap piece of lexan. It was easy to bore through with a hole saw no problem. The instructions say cut a 2" hole. I don't have a 2 inch so used a 2-1/8th inch. The vents measured about 2-3/8th inch. They were too tight in the 2-1/8th hole to adjust. I sent them back today and ordered the Vista vents. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/vistavents.php -------- Tom Jones Classic IV 503 Rotax, 72 inch Two blade Warp Ellensburg, WA Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=245027#245027
