I am having trouble adjusting my trim tension.- It falls forward on it's own.- I have tried to adjust it with the castle nut, but one slot (castle ) is too much.- Any suggestions? --- On Thu, 7/2/09, Catz631@aol.com wrote: From: Catz631@aol.com Subject: Re: Kitfox-List: Re: Missing Rotax 912S - A concern?Re: Missing Ro tax 912S - A c =0A =0AI was having a miss in my 912 UL along with a bad mag check on runup .. I worked on this for a couple of months and finally found two things that I believe were causing it. One was a broken wire in the red-power-lead to one of the modules. I found this by using an ohm meter and a sewing pin which I inserted in the wire shielding as I moved along the wire. The brea k under the wiring was totally invisable on the surface.-=0A-The second thing I found was a bad plug. I removed the-almost new plugs and "bomb" checked them under pressure. Sure enough one of them would not fire althoug h it looked fine.=0A-After those fixes,it is now running very smooth with no misses.=0A-------------------- ------------------------- ----- Dick Maddux=0A--------------- ------------------------- -----------Kitfox 4-1200=0A-------- ------------------------- ----------------- Milton,Fl--- Make your summer sizzle with fast and easy recipes for the grill. =0A=0A =0A=0A=0A ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 04:01:33 PM PST US Subject: Kitfox-List: Re: trim friction washer? From: "Tom Jones" I had the same problem. After a while I went ahead and set it in the 'Too tight" notch in the castle nut. After a while it worked in and is just right now. You might try using some thin washers to get the right adjustment or maybe finding a thicker piece of leather to make the friction washer out of. -------- Tom Jones Classic IV 503 Rotax, 72 inch Two blade Warp Ellensburg, WA Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=251380#251380 ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 04:23:30 PM PST US From: "rosane beaule" Subject: Kitfox-List: Throttle cable I probably need to replace the throttle cable on me Kitfox 4 - 912 engine. Put a thin or thick washer under the nut and see if that changes the position of the slot versus the tension that you seek. Or drill another hole through the stud, only at right angles to the first hole...that will give you an approximate *half-notch* tuneability. What's wrong with the one slot tightening being too tight? It just makes the flaps a little harder to deploy, but after a little time, it will loosen up...or you will get stronger...one or the other. : ) Lynn Matteson Kitfox IV Speedster, taildragger Jabiru 2200, #2062, 689.3 hrs Sensenich 62"x46" Wood prop Electroair direct-fire ignition system Status: flying On Jul 3, 2009, at 6:05 PM, Malcolm Brubaker wrote: > I am having trouble adjusting my trim tension.. It is some new weave of cable that when you push on it outside of the cover it ac tually straightens out instead of bending. very neat stuff. mic From: rob10@tlb.sympatico.ca Subject: Kitfox-List: Throttle cable I probably need to replace the throttle cable on me Kitfox 4 - 912 engine.
