It will go much faster if you have the old wind shield for a pattern. The originals
come as a piece of lexan 48 inches by about 49 inches. There is a rough
outline on them to get you started. You cut out the outline then try it, cut
some more, try it, cut some more...

Here is some information on the windshields. It is not specific to the model 2
but will probably help with your install.

It comes in many thicknesses. You will need to take a mic to what you have
to get the tickness. Caution-if you want to bend this, be carefull with hea
      t. To much heat will cause air bubbles in it. There is a process to heat an

Keep in mind that the Lowes, Home Depot material is glazing for windows. I
think it is .090. I have always used the .063 or what ever it is and that
is only available in a plastics shop or online. If you are in California
there is a family owned company that sells Polycarbonate. They are also
      online - Tap Plastics.

My almost-new Northstar F210 occasionally drops to 0 gph during cruise.
After a while it starts reading correctly again. It seems to do this
once or twice every hour of flight. I have no idea why.

Keep in mind that the Lowes, Home Depot material is glazing for windows.-
I think it is .090.- I have always used the .063 or what ever it is and
that is only available in a plastics shop or online.- If you are in Calif

I have a KitFox Model IV, with a Rotax 582 and have noticed a high-pitched
whistling type noise emanating from under the hood. It's not terribly loud
and has a bell's tonal quality. The frequency does not change at different
rpm settings, it only get somewhat louder. In other words, the cycle, or pi
tch of the noise doesn't change with different power settings.
I have listened to it also with the upper cowling removed and both doors of
f tryng to determine if it is caused by prop blast blowing through an openi
ng or hole. It's hard to pinpoint where it's coming from, but it seems to b
e strongest on the right side (while seated on the left).
If anyone else has experienced this type of thing before, or has any ideas,
I would like to hear from them. I won't be flying it until I can figure th
      is out!

Do you folks that are having problems with the F210 have good fuel
filters prior to the fuel going into the transducer?

Watch what you get from home depot. I was looking for lexan at the local HD and
all they had was acetate. Great for building aquariums, but sucks for windshields.
Will not cut with tin snips as it is too brittle, and will shatter instead
      of cracking and breaking.

Last time I ordered it from A.S. they rolled it up and put it in a shipping tube
for me. I think a sheet, shipped to my house in AK using priority mail was
120.00. The supplier that is 150 miles away from me wanted 180 bucks a sheet
and I had to drive up to go get it.

Sounds like crap in the fuel lines. I was flying yesterday and noticed my flow
rate was slowly dropping. Should have been burning 7.2 in climb out and I was
showing 6.3. I pushed over into cruise and pulled it back to where I should
have been burning 5.6 and was showing 4.9. I kicked on the electric booster
and the flow jumped back up to 5.6. Looked over my right shoulder and could see
crap in the filter just above the transducer. Landed, put in a new filter
and everything was back to normal. If I did not have that fuel flow meter, I
could have easily had a fuel starvation issue and had a nice ride into the trees,
instead, I was able to catch it in plenty of time and make the lake. Would
have to say it is the best 119.00 bucks I have spent.

Same here, although for different reasons. With the fuel flow gauge
showing my gph usage, I've found that I can fly lean-of-peak EGT
(thanks to the Rotec TBI, with its mixture control), and check to see
how close my cylinders are to each other in terms of fuel/air
distribution. With that information, I'm currently making
modifications to my engine that will even out the distribution to the
cylinders. I just finished making a "turbulator" and will install and
test it shortly. I was getting kinda bored just flying around with no
particular goal in mind. : )
