I just brought back yet another Kitfox for a customer a few months ago. I put some pics together for you here http://cfisher.com/trailer/ Plane is a Kitfox 2 and never on wheels till now. Was always on floats. it flew for 16 years and had 431 TT and Rotax 582 never was taken apart. Finally the ring gear broke and took out the rear of crankcase, part of firewall and fuel line. Owner landed on a lake safely and lost medical soon after os it got mothballled for 2 years. The plane is now flying again with a brand new Rotax 582 and cllimbs like a home sick angel. These lightweight Kitfoxes sure do perform well. These are the first time I used the Nankang Tires 21" -- They handle great on ground and land fine on grass. The info is on the site http://cfisher.com/trailer/ where to buy them for 30 to 35$ each direct . -------- Rotax Dealer, Ontario Canada http://www.cfisher.com/ Awesome *New Forum * http://rotaxaircraft.com/forum/ Realtime Kitfox movies to separate the internet chatter from the truth http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=kitfoxflyer Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=263936#263936

I'm looking at putting a corvair conversion into the Kit 7SS. Have any of you done this install? Anyone know if an engine mount for this might be available? If not, with your experiences, how difficult do you think it would be to fabricate this mount? Any ballpark idea what it would cost to have fabricated?

negative , No tubes in those tires. I have never had any reason to out them in yet . Tires great deal at 35$ each or less. I got 6 hours on those tires in last 2 days, and about hour dual shooting approaches with the owner. The bounce nicely off grass. Plane handles well with the stock gear and the owner it getting the hang of it quickly. He is IFR mutli rated commercial pilot.. Dave, I have those tires on Lowell Fitt bush gear. I put tubes in mine. I sure could use less weight with no tubes. I don't know what the tubes weigh. Must be a couple of pounds each. It cost me $60 to have them mounted so I guess I'll leave the tubes in. Haven't had the plane inspected yet, so I haven'd had it up yet. Pat, I have never used tubes yet. If you had a hole maybe a consideration but I have mounted dozens of sets of these tires and not had any issues. I use tire goop for the beads to help seal them and run them about 10 lbs or so. Name of game is less weight , This Kitfox 2 I just finished, I have not weighed yet but I gonna guess 500 ish lbs. IT will clear a 75 foot obstacle solo and zero wind in less that 500 feet. one of my runways is about 2300' long and it 500 to 600 agl at the end of it. Works well so far. I really like the IV handling better than the KF 2 though. Plus a better aileron control and quicker roll rate. -------- Rotax Dealer, Ontario Canada http://www.cfisher.com/ Awesome *New Forum * http://rotaxaircraft.com/forum/ Realtime Kitfox movies to separate the internet chatter from the truth http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=kitfoxflyer Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=264037#264037
