Dave,
Excellent example of why you don't use a paper filter (although that gunk
probably would have collected on a metal/plastic screen as well) When I
went to Lockwoods Rotax school they emphasized to NEVER,NEVER use a paper
filter. With ethanol in the fuel the water that is absorbed by the alcohol can
make the filter impassable for fuel.
