Nice, clean and professional looking. Works for me. Ducati regulator plug wires? > The magneto wires on my Kitfox feature a braided coaxial shield. I'm not too enthused about the way these were handled by the original builder. The shield is basically bunched together and soldered to a ground wire. One of the solder joints was hanging on literally by a thread .. so what do you guys recommend for tying the braided magneto shield to a ground wire? I'm considering bunching the braid together, applying a dab of solder, then butt splicing to the ground wire. > Carl, does this example look better? http://www.aeroelectric.com/articles/shldwire/shldwire.html -------- Tom Jones Classic IV 503 Rotax, 72 inch Two blade Warp Ellensburg, WA Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=271181#271181

Pat, I have most of the mods that Lowell offers for the Kitfox as well. (trim system, oil & coolant shutters, throttle bug ,low fuel warning and bush gear) These have made this a MUCH better aircraft having cured all the things that bugged me about the airplane ! I told Lowell that if something else comes out of his brain, let me test it as I will likely buy it. Wait till you fly with the "bush gear" you think you like it now! It's great ! What a "pussycat" the airplane is in the ground handling department! (and stability on approach) Dick Maddux Fox 4 Milton,Fl

The end terminal is conic and you open the wires of the cable into the cone and fill it with solder. My sight gages also show a lot of fuel when in fact there isn't. Is there a fix to this ploblem so there can be relied on? (Vixen, Series-5) Pat, Wish I had one of those on my Kitfox5 when I my plane ran out of fuel with both sides showing 3/4 of fuel. Little off topic but am replacing windshield and side windows. Does anyone know what thickness on the windshield and the side windows I should be using? Also what type of material should I use? Will one sheet 4x8 cover both of these? Thanks, LeRoy Kitfox 5 Wheatland,Mo.

Bob, many of the sight gauges on Kitfoxes have a small nylon restrictor in the bottom part that has a tiny hole in it to allow fuel through. It's purpose is to dampen large fuel level fluctuations during turbulence. If you have these, it's possible they may be plugged. Easy to check. I removed mine as I found that they weren't necessary. That was seven years ago and I haven't found any reason to replace them.
