Hi folks; I was installing my fire-wall-forward fuel lines yesterday (Rotax 582). The plans for my model II show the line from the gascolator to fuel pump as 5/16" however both the gascolator and fuel pump have 1/4" fittings. What size does everyone else out there use for this line?? Would this leading edge mod work on a Model II as well. Ken -------- Ken Potter Model II, No. 483 Rotax 582, C-Box, 98% Complete C-FJKP (marks reserved) Lanark, Ontario Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=274073#274073

I don't see why it wouldn't work, Ken, as all Kitfoxes use the tubular front spar. However, the shape of the wing on the 3 is much different than the 4 so I don't know if it would provide any more performance. He bought it as a basket case, so we never flew it without them, but I will tell you the cruise on it is better than on the Model II at about the same weights. I talked to Murle Williams online via email and he thought that the leading edge pvc would help the early mod 1-3 kitfoxes also as this is really what he did but before the preformed pvc was made and it made a difference on his model 3, I am planning on ordering it and installing it next week on my 3 to try it out , I think I will use the leading edge tape to cover over it and hold it on to see how it works before I permanently install it. My point was just to avoid comparison, Clint. As long as we are happy with what we have, why bother? Beside that, we all have different criteria: weight, performance, torque, price, maintenance, etc. I have seen the photos of a Jabiru with a burnt valve and a Rotax in the same condition, in real life. Both are just as ugly! May this never happen to any of us in a critical phase of the flight. Subject: Float Chamber Vent Lines
    From: "wingnut" <wingnut@spamarrest.com>
I'm in the process of replacing my heat box and all associated plumbing with air filters mounted directly to the carbs. Not sure what to do with the float chamber vent lines that used to run to the carb heat box via a T fitting. The installation manual reads: > The float chamber venting lines have to be routed into a ram-air and vacuum free zone or into the airbox. These lines must not be routed into the slipstream or down the firewall. So I can't run them down the firewall but I don't have an airbox anymore to plug them into. So what do I do with them? -------- Luis Rodriguez Model IV 1200 Rotax 912UL Flying Weekly Laurens, SC (34A) Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=274113#274113
