I took out a little pitch for today's flight and was pulling 6400 static. Take off was easily under 150' and doing a 3 point take off straight into a 55 mph climb yielded over 1000 fpm. I put half the pitch back after the flight because I had to throttle back during climb out and kept pushing 1200f. So hopefully I will be able to climb out at full throttle on the next flight. Even so, extended climbs throttled back to 5900-6000 were about 6-700 fpm. Still having a blast with this new prop. -------- James Kitfox 3 / 582 / GSC prop The ink is still drying on my new certificate Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=281849#281849

    Subject: Static Ports
Static ports I have a KitFox drawing showing correct location for the Static port on the KitFox, don't remember just what version it is, but if person wanting info will write, I will dig it out! If you don't have the static correct your airspeed can be up to 10 mph off, had one customer whose airspeed wouldn't get below 80 mph, finally found just a slight oil can in front of the static port causing a low pressure area over the area of the static port. This was on a Zenith 601 about 10 years ago. plane has over 600 hours on it now, still flying great.
