Anyone have any ideas what material works as well as wood? Or should I just keep the wood floorboards. Why do you want to change them? I helped with a Lancair project and they use honecomb cored composite for the floorboards. That stuff is great, but would cost an arm and a leg for maybe an ounce of weight savings. Very light weight but sturdy enough to put velcro patches to hold carpet in place. But i did consider going to the local household store and grabbing a cheap clothes basket and using that plastic bottom. ----- Original Message ----- From: Bryan Quinton To: kitfox-list@matronics.com Sent: Saturday, January 30, 2010 12:47 PM Subject: Kitfox-List: Floor Board Material Since I have them out of the plane right now I am considering remaking my floorboards out of another material other than wood. I considered using plexiglass or acrylic sheeting and then replacing the fabric with a transparent material. Just an idea but I think it would be fun to be able to see through the floorboards, maybe it is just a helicopter thing. -------- James Kitfox 3 / 582 / GSC prop The ink is still drying on my new certificate Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=284091#284091 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message kitfox-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/Kitfox-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/kitfox-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/kitfox-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
