From: "wildirishtime" My carb choke cables and/or handle are hanging up. I find I have to flip it back down, and then press IN on it to make it stop choking the carbs. Does someone know exactly step by step how to resolve this? I can't be the only one to have this issue..... thanks! Is this one different from most? I have an hour meter in my plane hooked up to the ign switch. I see the one you showed requires 4-40 volts. I imagine most run on 12 volts and somehow this one can handle the high range in voltage and others need a constant 12 volts. Is this correct? From: "Tom Jones" Check at the carb end. Pull the cable end boot up off the carb fitting and gently pull up on the choke cable. There should be a little bit of free play before you fell the plunger come off the seat. Be sure the boot on the end of the cable is not holding the outer cable ferrule end up in the socket. Pull up and down a few times on the cable to be sure the plunger is good and free. If not take it apart and clean it. You will see that there is an adjustment on the carb to adjust the inner cable throw. There should be a little free play in the cable when the choke lever is off. -------- Tom Jones Classic IV 503 Rotax, 72 inch Two blade Warp Ellensburg, WA Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=288358#288358 ________________________________ Message 4 _____________________________________ Time: 01:00:38 PM PST US Subject: Kitfox-List: Re: Lever-type choke hanging up - any suggestions? From: "wildirishtime" It's seating correctly and adjust right, but either the haulback spring is bad or the cable is dragging. Does anyone have details on dissasembling these choke 'lever type' systems? I didn't assemble it so wanted to gether info before jumping into it.... I understand....I guess. Is this just a standard hour meter, and do all have the cabability of 5-40 volts?
