I assume you are pumping fluid into the nipple on the caliper. Don't you overtop the master cylinder when you do that? Anyone here have an opinion on the Eggenfellner Honda conversion for use in a KF 4-1200? I'll give taxiing with brakes dragging a try. Roger, and everyone else too, what I am doing is breaking the pads in after sandpapering the disks and pads to rejuvenate them. -------- Tom Jones Classic IV 503 Rotax, 72 inch Two blade Warp Ellensburg, WA Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=298061#298061 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 07:11:29 AM PST US Subject: Kitfox-List: Re: Matco brakes break in procedure From: "Roger Lee" here is what I use for a brake bleeder. works like a charm. and it is only about $10. I picked it up at Ace Hardware. One of the best things I ever bought. It makes bleeding brakes very easy and fast. It blows out all the air bubbles. -------- Roger Lee Tucson, Az. Before I started I held the brakes and increased engine power until the plane started to creep. At 5000 rpm I couldn't hold it. Then I taxied at 5000 RPM holding firm pressure on the brakes to keep speed about 10 mph for about 200 yards. Then I let it roll to a stop without using the brakes. The disks were too hot to touch when I first got out. After the break in run and letting the brakes cool down I tried a static run up again and was able to easily hold it with full (6200 rpm) engine power. -------- Tom Jones Classic IV 503 Rotax, 72 inch Two blade Warp Ellensburg, WA Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=298221#298221 ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 05:59:27 PM PST US From: "Noel Loveys" Subject: RE: Kitfox-List: Re: Matco brakes break in procedure The trick is not to build up too much heat... You do that basically by clow taxiing with minimal but consistent brake application. It's well worth doing.
