      Ed,
Back bleeding the brakes is pretty standard procedure for aircraft. This
is the best way to get air out of the system. To catch any overflow fluid
you can use rags around the filler hole of the reservoir or you can drill a
hole in a spare filler cap thread it in and attach a plastic tube to it to
catch the overflow fluid, Or as I used to do,get a thin piece of wood (dia
of toothpick) to use as a dipstick to monitor the fill. (somewhat time
      consuming)
However now,I have the "visible brake reservoir" it is totally clear
thick plastic and makes filling a breeze ! You just watch it as you are filling.

For brake fluid overflow I just use a small water bottle with an 8" piece of clear
plastic tubing taped in the mouth of the bottle. I then connect the tubing
to the opening on the reservoir. Now the over flow fluid just goes into the bottle
and I don't even need to see it. When I'm done I take the tapped tube out
of the bottle and put the cap on the bottle for disposal. Cheap, easy and mess
free. If you use that spray bottle in the other pictures it flushes the system
so fast that it takes all the air with it. There is never any air left in
the system. A fast flush does a better job of clearing any bubbles over a slow
flush like you might get with just a oil can.

      Hi Ed,

Take a look at my other post with the pictures. I just use a small water bottle
with an 8" piece of tubing taped in the mouth. The tubing attaches to the reservoir
and the over flow just goes into the bottle. No mess no fuss.
