From: "dave" If you can see loose rivets allowing movement then I would investigate further. Loose rivets will only get looser and migjht be a early warning sign of something. BTW -- how much should a model 5 weight empty with a 0240 >? -------- Rotax Dealer, Ontario Canada http://www.cfisher.com/ Awesome *New Forum * http://rotaxaircraft.com/forum/ Realtime Kitfox movies to separate the internet chatter from the truth http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=kitfoxflyer Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=299336#299336 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 02:43:55 AM PST US Subject: Kitfox-List: Re: 618 EXHAUST From: "dave" 618 exhaust will be real touch to fit inside a Kitfox cowl without butchering the performance. Carl, I don't think that amount of looseness is normal. In thinking of the construction, there should be a steel bulkhead / rib on the inboard end of the flaperon that the tube is riveted to as well as to the mass balance weights. The rivets should be Stainless Steel. If the movement is between the tube and the steel rib it should be addressed. I think what I would do is drill out the rivets and install larger rivets. There is also a tendency to develop slop in the linkages as well, but I think 10 degrees is too much.
