I was running a bit rich for break. I tightened the exhaust manifold bolts. They were surprisingly loose. I degreased the engine and ran it up for 1/2 hour at 5000 rpm. No leak. I use the rear CG limit of the aircraft so I will be covered no matter what. If you set it under the empty CG you will find yourself having a hard time getting it on step at gross weight or if you have something loaded in the baggage area. Been there, done that and have a couple tee shirts.. -------- DO NOT ARCHIVE Leonard Perry aka SNAKE Soldotna AK Avid "C" / Mk IV 582 (147 hrs and counting on the rebuild) IVO IFA Full Lotus 1450 #1 snake oil salesman since 1-22-2009 I would rather die trying to live, than to live trying not to die.... I tried it on my old prop and found that the washers will eat away at the threads on the shaft and you wont be able to get full pitch range. I just set mine up with a teflon washer on each side so it wont bottom out and stick. I set the max RPM on the ground runup then bump it here and there in the air or on roll out to keep the RPM and EGTS right where I want them. From: "Tommy Walker" I too thank you for that POH. I pick up my kit August 13 and will begin work. This gives me some insight into speeds.
