That was a wonderful story. Well written, clear and concise. It's 2am and I am reading Ernest Gann's Book, "Fate is the Hunter". I stopped to log on the internet and came across you story. Your story was so good, you could have just put it in one of his chapters. At 73 with a kitfox-7, I fly almost every day here in the mountains of north Idaho. I would like to do what you did but don't know if I have it in me. You really passed a lot of good info on the customs routine and what was needed. thanks Rich Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=308170#308170

I have the same as Lowell since May 2000. No problems or complaints. I liked it and it worked fine for me. I just ignored the other two outputs. I see that they now have the music imputs standard. They now also have the SPA 200 and 200S for two place aircraft. I am not sure if I will need one as I decided to go with the MGL V10 and MGL claims they have an internal intercom. If I find that it does not work as well, I will likely go with the Sigtronics 200S. It has an always on or off intercom triggered by a switch that absolutely sucks. I have a Pilot portable intercom with squelch control that is not much better. Keep meaning to get a decent panel intercom and now is the time but I cannot seem to find any good consumer reports that I trust. Most seem to be 4 place and that is never going to be an issue for me. Thought I would ask the group. I am looking for clarity more than anything....more concerned about that than cost. I recently flew in another KF IV with a ICOMM that fit the 2.5" hole and it was great but I do not recall the model number and it was very old so probably not still available. I was in a Safari chopper with a Flightcom. Any suggestions? Gary, I have a PS Engineering PM 1000 II, and it works very well. Was installed in '94, so there could be a newer model out there. Doesn't take up much panel space and has auto squelch. In general all PS Engineering equipment works very well and is reliable. Ron Smith Kitfox IV w/ Jabiru 2200 200 hrs. Do Not Archive
