Hi everyone, I have a fox4 with a 582 C 3:1 GSC 68" and at cruising
RPM (5800-6000) EGT goes over 1200, any other rpm temp are 1100-1150.
Ground static 6200. Changed pitch to ground static 5900-6000.....same
problem. New needle 11G2,Change needle clip to last notch.....same problem.
Anybody had that problem before? Any idea or suggestion to what to look
for??
I wonder if a different prop would do the same thing? I'm thinking of
trying a warpdrive or IVO ultralight prop

He does a great job of explaning the interelation between prop pitch, RPMs,
EGTs-and jetting of the Bing carbs. Seems I recall that high RPM setting
s are controlled by the main jets. Your corrections to the jet needles woul
d affect-EGTs at mid-range RPMs. You might need-the next richer main je
ts to get those numbers down.
