Use primer ports.
I would be it your prop -- try old gsc or borrow one to isolate.

of the engine, not the gearbox) that contains some kind of viscous liquid.
This helps to dampen the power pulses and is supposed to absorb vibrations before
they leave the engine. It's standard on all their 2-strokes now I believe.

without use of the Synchromate, i.e. just making sure the slides are even
and they reach the top @ the same time and the egt's match up well. I'm curious
about the Synchromate though. It appears that it is made more for the 912/914
Rotaxes, rather than the 2 strokes as it refers to 2 carbs that are vacuum
linked. Where would one hook up the vacuum lines that run to the instrument
on the 582/Bing 54 carbs?

I use daily plumbers putty goo in a can from home depot.
$4 or 5$ a can -- good for gas, diesel and oils read the can.
Never had a leak but it has solved many in 35 year and Hundreds of planes.
DO NOT use Teflon tape!!

Mike, Thanks for that recommendation a few months ago. Dow 730 was the only
sealant that didn't leak on my plastic header tank. I have mine in the
refrigerator on your advice. Wish I'd known about Sky Geek. A/C was $20
more.

Chris, When it came time to sync my 582 carbs I was dreading the process.
I remembered past twin carb VW and 4 carb motorcycle engine syncing with all
the hookups, adjusting and readjusting. Another 582 driver said all he ever
did was sync the slides by eye using the same method you mentioned. It
worked great for me too, and took less than 5 minutes. Engine runs smooth
with equal EGT's. I don't think I could have done any better, may worse,
with the manometer setup.
