I bought two engine mounts P/N 90048.000, last spring and used them to replace the two lower mounts. I thought they were drooping too much. The s7 I have was built from the skystar manual and I used it to replace the mounts. It calls for a 1 7/16" rubber bushing P/N 01146.000, which was missing before I replaced the mounts. (My building partner did it). I installed the bushing and new mounts and noticed a small buzzing vibration after that. I have since rebuilt the carbs, and the gearbox and have gone full circle with the vibration. Yes I Balanced Is there a new mount or method in the newer S7's? -------- Rich Little N812RL S-7 912ULS North Idaho Powerfin soon to be Kiev Prop Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=314404#314404 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 08:14:51 AM PST US Subject: Kitfox-List: Re: Prop balancer for 582 From: "mikeperkins" I have a flowmeter carb synchronizer laying around from my sports car days that worked well on the 532. It fits over the carb's air intake and is similar to this one: http://www.jcwhitney.com/universal-carburetor-synchronizer/p2005371.jcwx?skuId 2931&TID=231000000&zmam=15972153&zmas=21&zmac=123&zmap=492173 But I've found that if I match the closed-positions of both carbs identically (engine off), then the flows are matched with the engine running on the ground at cruise RPM, within a little bit. The flowmeter in the link above has an air column that pivots, allowing it to work with both downdrafts and sidedrafts. Carb heat smooths it out at all the mid ranges. If I advance the throttle quickly it will make it through the rough range ( 3000 rpm to 4000 rpm) and run normally above 4000 rpm. This sounds to me most likely a carburetor problem. Another approach is to change out the main jets to slightly larger which will richen the mixture at mid and upper range. Fly at 5000, ease out the enrichener watching rpm closely. If you get a slight increase in rpm this is the preferred approach, If you lose rpm you will be better served with the first solution.
