Hi TucsonChris, I live in Tucson, also and I hanger out at Ryan Airfield. If you need any help give me a call. Nice catch Guy, The parallel heater core in the second post is the important part. I'm still not convinced about the air pocket, but I am leaning a whole lot on the flow following the path of least resistance and not running through the cooling system and heads as designed. I'm definitely with Guy and you should route this in series so the coolant is forced to flow the entire coolant path and not pick the least resistant route. Make sure no hoses have too sharp a bend. If they do put a stainless spring in the hose at the bend and that will keep the kinks out. You may then need to setup a bypass for the heater coolant so you can turn it off and on. TucsonChris, I originally set up my heater routing incorrectly and exactly what guy said happened. I diagagnosed it without the problems you encountered because I wondered about it from the very begining. Just fill her up, run your engine and feel your hoses or pipes for heat to see if you are bypassing the radiator with your heater circuit. I had a similar problem when I first got my plane. The original builder put the overflow tank and the fluid return from the top of the heads on a "T". That meant that there was no pressure being built up in the cooling system and it always boiled over. As soon as I saw the plane I found this abnormality I had a second port installed in the filler on the low pressure side of the cap for the overflow bottle. On one other occasion I had the same problem again which was caused by some kind of faulty sealer that was used when the engine was overhauled. That problem was fixed double quick and I never had another problem with that engine. So at 165F you should not have a boil over unless the cap was not screwed on straight or the cap is bad. It can happen. Take the cap off and put it back on. Run the engine again and if it boils over replace the cap. I take it you are using a 50/50 coolant mix? The other thing on my mind is are you sure the 165F was correct? -------- Roger Lee Tucson, Az. Subject: Tundra Tires
Would they fit on a rim that currently has 600x6 tires on it? How tall are they? -----Original Message----- From: owner-kitfox-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-kitfox-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Carolina Flyer Sent: Wednesday, October 06, 2010 10:31 PM Subject: Kitfox-List: Tundra Tires Hello Everyone, I have seen many people have the Carlisle golf cart tires on a 6" rim and call them Tundra Tires.... They are Heavy and Stiff, and the size is all I see that is close to being what is referred to as a Tundra Tire.....The Carlisle Tire is a very good tire, but I do not think it Preforms like Real Tundra Tires do....These Tires I have are Soft and only use between 5 and 10 pounds of air, and they are Light Weight........... They act like the Big Boys Tundra Tires in Alaska...... The Rims I have are 8" in Diameter, and fit on Black Max and Hegar wheel hubs, and maybe others..... Anyway I would like your input on what you think about my Tire and Wheel Combo........ If anyone thinks they would like to have a set for their Kitfox send me an e-mail..... These work Fantastic on my Kolb, and I even sold a set to Rotax Rick that is on Barnstormers..... He is a Rotax Repair Center down in Florida.... Anyway he has a set on his Quicksilver that has a Rotax 670, and he loves them. I thin! k these have been the best mod I have done on my Kolb Firestar II....... The Nanking or "KingFox" tires are for an 8" (ATV-type) wheel. -------- Thanks, Av8r3400 Kitfox Model IV-1200 W/912UL & IVO Kitfox Model IV-1050 W/912UL & Warp Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=315074#315074

It is Correct that these tires will only fit on a Wheel that has a 8" Diameter, and the preferred rim needs to be 8" to 9" wide.... However the Wheels I have have been made especially for this type of tire....... They are not ATV Wheels, and they are one piece tubeless rims that will fit the Black Max Brake System, and also the Hegar Wheel Hubs...... The Wheels have a 3 bolt pattern, and ATV wheels have 4 lugs....... As I said these wheels have been Custom Made for me. I am also a Black Max Dealer. and can supply the Brakes and whatever else is needed. These wheels are even Heat Treated......... The Tire and Wheel combo I am offering will be shipped already mounted, and filled with air.....Any more questions please send me an E-Mail -------- Kolb Firestar II 503 C-Box / RK400 Clutch Phantom 503 B-Box Location : Buffalo South Carolina Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=315076#315076 Attachments: http://forums.matronics.com//files/dsc00448_large_213.jpg

Dick, What you said about the Tires is so TURE, These Tires are Awesome, and I am sure you agree with me on that. I have a Phantom, and a Kolb Firestar, and I try to keep everything as light as possible. I have been looking around for the past couple of years for the Best Tire, Wheel and Brake Combination. I agree with you that the Nanco Tire is the best Bang for the Buck. However I also wanted the Best and Lightest Wheel and Brake Combination I could find. When I was looking for Bakes the Black Max System was the Best and Lightest System I could find, and Black Max Brakes have readily available parts.. It is a very Light and Simple Set-Up thats easy to install, but there were no 3 bolt pattern wheels that would fit the Black Max System, and that the 21" x 12" x 8" Nanco tire would fit..... So I had to have the Wheels Custom made.... I feel that what I have put together is the Best and Lightest Tundra Tire System for my needs. Everyone that has seen my Kolb just loves my Tires and Wheels, and everyone that has bought this Set-up has loved them...... I am just trying to offer People something that Light and Simple and Trouble Free...............Thanks......
