Subject: | November List Fund Raiser |
There is an automatic "squelch button" of sorts for the Fund Raiser messages.
Here's how it works... As soon as a List member makes a Contribution through
the Matronics Fund Raiser web site, they will instantly cease to receive these
Fund Raiser messages for the rest of the month! Its just that simple.
I really do appreciate each and every one of your individual Contributions to support
the Lists. It is your support that enables me to upgrade the hardware
and software that are required to run a List Site such as this one. It also goes
to pay for the commercial-grade Internet connection and to pay the huge electric
bill to keep the computer gear running and the air conditioner powered
on. I run all of the Matronics Email List and Forums sites here locally which
allows me to control and monitor every aspect of the system for the utmost in
reliably and performance.
Your personal Contribution matters because, when combined with other Listers such
as yourself, it pays the bills to keep this site up and running. I accept
exactly ZERO advertising dollars for the Matronics Lists sites. I can't stand
the pop-up ads and all other commercials that are so prevalent on the Internet
these days and I particularly don't want to have it on my Email List sites.
If you appreciate the ad-free, grass-roots, down-home feel of the Matronics Email
Lists, please make a Contribution to keep it that way!!

Subject: | 8mm vs AN5 prop bolts |
Got my new Ivo light 68" ground adjustable prop in. Sure is smooth on runup and
love that easy ground adjusting method. Weather won't allow inflight test yet
though.
The supplied 8mm mounting bolts work but are a little long for my taste. Once properly
torqued, the threaded end comes within a few mm of touching the 'C' gearbox
housing. Also, I'd feel better if they were drilled and I could safety wire
them too.
So the question is, can one get shorter 8mm AN quality bolts with the heads drilled?
Should I just use drilled AN5 bolts instead? Or, should I just add some
washers on the face of the prop hub and not worry about safety wiring?

Dave, is your current oil line 5/16 polyurathane? I wanted to use that but could
not find that size, only 1/4 inch.
I ended up using 5/16 black rubber transmission oil cooler line from NAPA. It
is made by Gates and has 400 psi stamped on it. It makes a pretty tight turn
without kinking.

I'm don't claim to be an expert=2C but my opinion is that a washer shouldn'
t hurt=2C that is unless you have to many of them stacked up. I've used a
8 MM lock nut to safety the bolts with no problem=2C although to be honest
=2C I've also run IVO props with no safetys with no problems. Take care=2C

Thanks Guy. Those prop bolts from Airwolf look like they'll do the trick.

Hi Folks,
This fall I saw a Model II at a flyin which had bubble doors. I'm interested in
something similar for my Model II. Does anyone know if the bubble doors sold
by Kitfox for a Model IV fit a model II, or if there is another source for
them short of blowing them myself??
Cheers
Ken

I couldn't say exactly. It's a blue plastic line is all I really know, and
the blue could have come from dye in the oil. All I can say with any
certainty is that it's time to replace it.

Okay, if you find a source for 5/16 inside polyurethane let me know. I would like
to get some.
