James, I had mine plumbed like yours are but also did not like the low spot in
the line under the door. I changed it to how the service Bulletin recommends
with the panel tank. In the last picture the line under the windshield screw
on the left is the main line from the wing tank. The other line is the vent.
The vent line is connected to each side of the two high spots of the panel tank
and a T in this line runs to the top of the wing tank. You can see the vent
line and fitting in the top of the wing tank in the site gauge picture.
One advantage of a rear header tank is it makes for a good down hill slope all
the way from the wing tank. In the pictures you can see the slope in the lines
above the door is just about level with the panel tank routing. To get all
the fuel in the wing tank to drain I must fly with that wing high for a little
while.
