Subject: | Re: 582 throttle cable |
The cable clamp is supposed to pivot in the mixer. My clamp was binding causing
the wire to bend back and forth. The wire broke right at the cable clamp. Throttle
control was a A-790 (acs 05-08036). Is this the best cable for this application?
Has any installed a spring to make the throttle to pull the throttle
open in the event of a cable break? Would rather look for a suitable landing site
under full power. :?

Thanks Wes,
Living in the boondocks requires sime thought and work arounds.
My methods are fairly common in the scratch build composite homebuilt
world. Just use common stuff, and correct epoxy & glass.
So Succesful I am restoring a 40 year old car and use the same
methods for the interior trim. Difference is I cover with fabric
store stretchy, fuzzy felt for the covering. Got the felt tip from
the professional hot rod interior guy. BTW, the felt is so light it
should work on the plane.
