Dave I will out a long tie wrap around the bungees to keep them clear of controls.
I just got another Kitfox in yesterday that need bungees, I hope to get at it this
week. It is a KF 2 -- I will make some bungee this week - clamp them with
stiff wire and show how to install easy.
Stay Tuned .

Lift a wheel and use chalk or spray paint to mark the tire as you spin it.
Then scribe a line in the new paint or chalk with a nail or screwdriver that is
held steady as the tire turns. Repeat on other side.
Now just measure at axle height and compare from and rear marks. Voila -- Exact
measurement --in mm or inches. I would shoot for 1/8" toe out or toe in for
my median -- over that I would be more concerned,
You will hear many different opinions - toe in or toe out - laser marking degrees
etc.

Damn, do all the new Army guys fly that high? How do you see any detail
from those nose-bleed altitudes?

Looking at my original building notes here. I used Dave's measuring method. I
measured from center line of the fuselage determined by dropping a plumb bob line
from the tail wheel spring bolt and the center of the front of the fuselage.
Cabin floor level. That is, tail up.
Left tire was one inch wider at the rear. Right tire was 1/16th inch wider at
the rear. So I would say if you are measuring from the ends of a six foot rod
probably nothing bent, just normal, "Weld Warp".
I took the left axel out and bent it cold in a vise with a sledge hammer so the
wheel is straight with the fuselage. I did not alter the right gear.

Wurleybird, Thanks for the video. Don't take any unnessary chances over
there. I made it back from Viet Nam taking the time to think first then act.
I've got alot of airheads to forward this to.

Leon reminds me of a P51 pilot that was being interviewed. He said people
would say, upon finding out he had been a fighter pilot in WWII, "That must
have been terrible". His reply was, "Are you kidding? I was 19 years old.
They gave me this brand new, shiney, fastest airplane in the world and said,
" Do anything with this plane you want as long as you bring it back.
