Hey guys, I'd love to have a float plane with a reliable 4 stroke that could fit, with wings folded, inside an enclosed trailer, which could serve as hanger, shop and transporter for the float plane. Any thoughts, recommendations or referrals? I have two "Kitfox" trailers. One has a seven foot high rear door opening the other is over-wide at 9 feet. A Sky Raider that I looked at had Full Lotus floats that might squeeze between the inner fenders of the taller trailer. The tail feathers might just barely clear the vertical door opening if the plane were loaded nose up a bit, but it has a Jabiru 2200 that runs too hot for lower 48 problem free warm weather seaplane operations, and Sky Raider says no other suitable 4 stroke is available quite yet from them. Mal, That old extra wide Kitfox trailer that I got from you about a year ago is a dream to load compared to my first 8 foot 6 inch wide Kitfox trailer which was built by the same trailer shop that built Kitfox trailers used for years by the Kitfox factory. And, the trailer I got from you, being shorter, tows a lot easier getting 3 mpg better tow vehicle mileage! Happy customer. LLoyd, - I've thought of doing that very thing myself. For now, I'm running the 5/16 " blue line from the wing all the way to the header, with Purelator glass f ilters in between, located just inside the cabin where I can see them. Work s great. The blue fuel lines present no problems with ethanol although I've been running ethanol-free gas lately. - Marco Menezes N99KX Model 2 582-90 C-Box 3:1 w/clutch Hersey, MI --- On Sat, 7/16/11, Lloyd & Lorrie Cudnohufsky <7suds@Chartermi.net> wrote : From: Lloyd & Lorrie Cudnohufsky <7suds@Chartermi.net> Subject: Kitfox-List: Fuel Lines termi.net> Guys, Trying to finish up my interior and have come to the point of installing th e fuel lines from the wing tanks to the header tank, couple questions, has anyone ran aluminum from the header to just inside the wing root then rubbe r to the wing? What are the watch outs to doing so? Also, what flex fuel line s have people had success with in reference to ethanol resistance, I know Gates Barricade was previously discussed on the forum, I have not had any success finding a distributor yet, what else have people been comfortable with? On a flight this weekend, in 30 deg C (around 86) I was treated to a dismal 300 FPM climb two up in the Kitfox. I was reluctant to climb at a slower speed as temps were hovering at 180. I am thinking that if I could close off the heater and force all the coolant that does not flow through the engines bypass hose through the rad, I might be able to bring the airspeed back a little and claw for more climb without heating things up too much. Does anyone have a part description for a suitable valve? I dropped by Napa and asked for a heater valve from any Dodge from the sixties or seventies and they had no clue. Cortina, Vauxhall, MG etc, all brought blank stares. So, any clues? Dave G. KF IV 1050 582 Warp 68 Taper

Dave When I had the Subaru in my Kitfox I used a simple cable actuated valve from a Toyota Forerunner from about early 90's vintage I believe. Guys, Thanks for the responses on the fuel lines, I am searching out the parts and just might wait until I am in Oshkosh to pick them up. Guy I noticed you said you used 3/8, I was planning 5/16 but see that the fittings are more difficult to find especially when you get to the hose ends. Thanks again. Lloyd
