Subject: | Re: Trailering advice/Kitfox parts |
I did use some of that hard foam, when I installed ribs in the
vertical. Apparently Jimmie got some plans for making the ribs but
that would have required me to order the fiberglas vertical trailing
edge, so I scaled everything down a bit and built my own ribs, using
an aluminum trailing edge that I had formed locally. When I got it,
Jimmie had already installed the intercostals in the horizontal stab.
I've still got some parts left over..... : )

It all depends on the money=2C 1st choice enclosed van because no one rents
a long enough trailer=2C it would also allow youi to move other things at t
he same time. 2nd choice would be a flatbed trailer would also allow you to
move a few other things but watch out for the false ribs=2C they are very
fragile. 3rd choice is the boat trailer=2C it will be the cheapest but be h
onest with yourself=2C do you have time to modify the trailer to safely tra
nsport the plane=2C I used a flat bed trailer towing my Avid put it tail fi
rst and strapped downby the wheels=2C I already had it as it is the most us
eful trailer for a person that likes to build things that are too big to fi
t in a pickup truck. It would also be easy to resell once you reach your de
stination but once you have it you will not want to let go of it.
