Por 15 is the only slosh I'd use. I used it on a motorcycle tank with similar results as you. I used Kreem on a street rod tank-and had it come off in large p atches.-But, I wouldn't use slosh unless I had to. There is no way to be sure the tank is completely preped. Plastic gas cans are so inexpensive tha t even slosh would cost more. =0A=0APat Reilly=0AMod 3 582 Rebuilt=0ARockfo rd, IL=0A=0A=0AOn Tue, Jul 3, 2012 at 12:48 PM, Lowell Fitt wrote:=0A=0A =0A>Bob, =0A>I have always used the plastic cans becau se I felt there =0Awould be less chance for damage if not handled exactly r ight.- The problem =0Awith plastic cans available now - at least in Calif ornia - the child/adult proof =0Acans are pieces of junk.- I have never s pilled more fuel than I now do with =0Athese spill resistant super safety d esigned cans.- The nozzles are =0Aimpossible.- I routinely cut out the safety latch system, but then the =0Anozzle is so short they are worthless when refueling a car - can only empty the =0Afirst half of the fuel.- On the airplane, if the internal valve would seal =0Aproperly, I guess they wo uld be OK on the wing, but not tested here =0Ayet. =0A>Lowell =0A>=0A> =0A> From: bob noffs =0A>Sent: Tuesday, July 03, 2012 6:49 AM =0A>To: kitfox-li st@matronics.com ; avid_flyer@yahoogroups.com =0A>Subject: Kitfox-List: ga s tank slosh=0A>=0A> =0A>hi all, =0A>-i have a gas tank slosh question. =0A>-i am leaning more lately to hauling 93 octane from a gas station to =0Amy hangar. i usually fill from the mogas pump at my airport and haul bac k to the =0Ahangar in 5 gal cans anyway. got started on this while calibrat ing fuel gauges, =0Ameasuring fuel cap. etc. and now find it no more troubl e than taxiing to the =0Apumps. plus station gas is 2 octane higher[no etha nol like airport fuel] and =0A$.70/ gal cheaper. =0A>-anyway............. ....what is anyones experience sloshing metal =0Acontainers? i did a por 15 on a cycle tank once and was satisfied, no problems =0Ain years. i would n ever pour from these tanks. i have a pump set up with a glass =0Afilter.i t hink i have read tank looks clean after the cleaner must coat it =0Aanyway. i have several gerry cans and outboard tanks that would work well and i =0Athink more crash proof than plastic but all haven't been used in years a nd have =0Asome rust now. =0A>-then again 5 gal. plastic cans are only $1 5 a piece. =0A>-any opinions? =0A>-- bob noffs =0A>=0A>href="http:/ /www.matronics.com/Navigator?Kitfox-List">http://www.matronhref/="http:// forums.matronics.com">http://forums.matronics.com/ href="http://www.matro nics.com/contribution">http://www.matronics.com/c =0A>arget="_blank">http ://www.matronics.com/Navigator?Kitfox-List=0Atp://forums.matronics.com=0A_b lank">http://www.matronics.com/contribution =0A=0A=0A-- =0APat Reilly=0AMod =========================0A ======================= ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 05:00:32 PM PST US From: Subject: Kitfox-List: Osh gathering of flaprons, Foxs, Avids, what ever Seaplane base, 12.00 thursday ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message kitfox-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/Kitfox-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/kitfox-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/kitfox-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
