Poked around the internet a bit for sources, here is one. http://www.nationalbalsa.com/ Lloyd From: owner-kitfox-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-kitfox-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Ed Gray Sent: Tuesday, September 25, 2012 11:27 PM Subject: Kitfox-List: balsa fairings Pat, It has been several years so I can't remember cost. Probably about a buck or two for a one foot section. Got em at Mike's Hobby in Carrollton, Tx. Just cut a shallow V into the fat edge with an exacto, then rounded it to shape of the strut with coarse sandpaper. I always left a three inch section unfaired on the leading upper tube, since that's where I grabbed it to spread the wings. The balsa won't take manhandling, but flight stresses are no problem. Mine still looked good after two years when I sold the plane. Plan on doing the same on the model 4 1200 I am starting now. Hobby stores call it "aeleron stock", I think. I'm going to Sebring in the lancair, hope to see some nice model 4 Kitfoxes there. Ed No virus found in this message. Very cool stuff! Keep it flying. From: owner-kitfox-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-kitfox-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Mike Chaney Sent: Saturday, September 29, 2012 3:45 PM Subject: Kitfox-List: Noteworthy I'm sot sure this is newsworthy but it is somewhat noteworthy for me. Today I just clicked off 500 hours on my kitfox IV. The first, almost 300 hours, was with Rotax 582 power and the remainder with a Jabiru 2200. I don't claim to be a "hard core" flyer but a steady, year after year, of Saturday morning flights add up. Included in these hours were a number of first time kitfox passengers, a few young eagles, and even my 80 year old grandmother a few years ago. My wife and I have made a number of local fly-ins over the years in the kitfox and even camped under the wing a few times. Mike Chaney No virus found in this message.
