Dow 730 sealant is especially good for plastic and resin tanks where the fitting can't be tightened to the normal torque. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/cspages/dow730.php Has anyone checked the price on this product? I think others in the past have recommended Rectorseal No. 7, and I ordered some of that this morning. We'll see. The Dow product is a RTV product. Do you think it will harden in the tube like most RTVs do. I am old fashoned enough to like the looks of the wood prop and the round cowl. This prop has run out of its time limit and I am considering a different prop. Last spring there was an article in Kitplanes magazine about a fellow, I think that he had a Rans S7 with a 912 engine. He did quite a bit of experimenting compareing a warp blade prop and a whirlwind prop. His conclusion was that he had considerablt better preformance with the whirlwind prop. Has any one on this list have any experience with this whirlwind prop? It sealed the fittings 1st time, hasn't leaked since. The stuff is superb for sealing fittings in plastic tanks. That was 2 1/2 years ago. I have kept it in the refridgerator for 2 1/2 years and it is still plyable. I even sold enough to seal a couple of fittings to someone on this list for $20 after I had it for a couple of months. Good deal for both of us. I recooped some of my expense and he spent 20% of the cost of a full tube.
