From: Sacha Tom Thanks for that. It makes sense that (in the new post 2003 setup) if the first 8 degrees are dedicated to the spoiler region, then the flaperon angle with the flap lever full forward should be 19.5 instead of 11.5. I went and checked my setup today and the flaperon angle seems about 5 degrees *above* the horizontal instead of 11.5 degrees below. I'll have to find a proper digital level to take precision measurements and make the appropriate adjustments. I still haven't heard back from Kitfox about my enquiry to purchase a manual. I'll have to do some deep thinking on this. > > Anyone else know for sure? > > Mine is set at 11.4 degrees and flys straight and level hands off with no roll problems when flaps deployed. > > -------- > Tom Jones > Classic IV > 503 Rotax, 72 inch Two blade Warp > Ellensburg, WA > > > > > Read this topic online here: > > http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=402731#402731 > > > > > > > > > > ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 06:28:31 AM PST US Subject: Kitfox-List: Re: flap angles, Kitfox IV - 11.5 or 19.5 degrees?? Mine seems about 3/8" too wide on both sides as compared to the sides of the tube fuselage and in compared to the stainless steel lower firewall pie ce (the part that goes along the lower edge and below the fuse)..... With the IV the firewall is custom fit to the cowling so it is sent by the factory oversized. It is essentially cut to fit the cowl. I found that one of the more challenging parts of the whole construction process. Not being that familiar with the 7, the above might not hold, but I would suggest not cutting until you are sure how it will eventually fit the cowl.
