This was on the ground, normal flight attitude on a 912ULS. -------- Dorsal ~~^~~ Series 7 Flying 912S Warp Drive Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=407281#407281 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 06:26:09 PM PST US Subject: Kitfox-List: spring gear flexing & brake lines From: "clemwehner" Our KF-IV is nearly completed, but I just watched the Kitfox video of the spring gear flexing on landing. The center of the grove gear flexes 2 or 3 inches below the belly. My concern is our brake lines breaking with gear flex. Our lines come through the center console out the belly in the fuselage center, then zip tie to the gear and run outward to the fittings in the gear near the fuselage sides. My concern is that the amount the gear moves down below the belly will tear the lines loose. Other than re-doing the brakes lines so they come down the sides of the fuselage or cutting the zip ties and letting the lines flap in the breeze, does anyone have a better idea? thanks, Clem Oklahoma Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=407290#407290 ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 08:07:39 PM PST US From: "Lloyd & Lorrie Cudnohufsky" <7suds@Chartermi.net> Subject: RE: Kitfox-List: spring gear flexing & brake lines Clem, Not sure what you are running for brake line, I used the flexible plastic line, I did however run my lines from the brake pedals along the outboard inside edge of the fuselage and exited through the bottom of the fuselage just behind the pivot attach point for the spring gear, lines will see the least amount of movement at this location from gear flex. My gear is not gun drilled so my lines continue down the rear edge of the gear in a factory milled grove. lloyd -----Original Message----- From: owner-kitfox-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-kitfox-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of clemwehner Sent: Thursday, August 22, 2013 8:25 PM Subject: Kitfox-List: spring gear flexing & brake lines --> Our KF-IV is nearly completed, but I just watched the Kitfox video of the spring gear flexing on landing.
