Guy/Mike,
Thanks for that. I've recently had to re-rig the flapperon control
bellcrank (I came to the conclusion it was clocked incorrectly at build
time, see previous posts back in June) and maybe I also need to do some
adjusting of the rods. I'll start by re-checking the wing angles first.

PS. Guy, just noticed you're in KRMN. I did my PPL in KSEE in 2011. Was
hoping to return there sometime next year to do some more flying, if I do
I'll try and look you up if that's ok.

I'm going to say definitely. Really, you have only a few choices, plus some
also-rans. Choices:
* Wing twist different - noted.
* Wing weight different. Check using scales under the mains. This
happens occasionally in flight when one tank drains while the other is full.
* Flaperon rigging off. If one flaperon is low this will drag that
wing back. You'll center the ball with the rudder which will cause that wing
to lift, resulting in a feeling of miss-rigging.
Also rans:
* Twisted fuselage causing one wing to lead.
* Really bad wing rigging causing one wing to lead. (Wings not
perpendicular to fuselage.)
* Accidentally put wing extension on only one side.

Sacha,
I think you might have hit on the problem. My left wing is slightly heavy.
I tried to correct it by flattening the right wing, but conventional wisdom
is to tighten the angle of attack on the heavy wing. I have yet to do that,
though.

Howdy All,
Just passing this along in hopes that it may benefit someone.
I also had hearing loss similar to what many of you have described.
Then I had a tooth extracted due to a long-term (years) low-grade infection
in the root.
With the extraction, a prescription for an antibiotic was written. Standard
procedure.
Within days, my hearing returned.
Why? The long-term lingering infection at my tooth root had also spread to
my sinuses.
This infection was causing my hearing degradation.
I hope someone out there has an infected tooth causing a similar problem.
Very easy to fix.

Too many chainsaws and helicopters in my life have ruined my ears. I broke
down and got hearing aids this year. The guy said I have moderate hearing
loss in the frequency where children's voices are and sever loss in the
frequency where women's voices are.
There's been some pretty good advances in hearing aids the past few years.
He programed them on a computer to match my hearing loss. I can now hear
things I haven't heard for a ling time...like birds chirping.
I haven't worn them in the kitfox yet. Mine is very noisey. I have a good
ANR headset and my KX99 is very clear. My problem is there is a college
flight program here and those kids talk so darn fast.
If the other plane has a clear transmission and talks normal I can under
stand them. If too fast or a crappie radio I can't.

Great report. Thank you. It sounds like you use an enclosed trailer. Is that correct?
Any photos of your set up? Is your trailer single or double axle? Do
you put your plane on the trailer facing rear or forward? Do you secure the
prop so it won't freewheel (if on an open trailer)?

Steve,
I use an enclosed trailer. The idea of having the plane exposed while
traveling cross country and touring invites problems, kids, road debris,
etc.
Our place in the Florida Keys is an astonishingly corrosive environment
and a typical T hanger rents for $6,000 per year so the trailer also
serves as a hanger for me, which saves lots of money and protects the
plane. A new enclosed trailer for a Kitfox can be had for about $5,500, -
see Barnstormers.
I have loaded the plane both ways in different trailers, currently loading
tail first with the tail wheel on a small (read cheap) flat trailer. I set
it up this way originally to get the best towing weight balance for this
particular enclosed trailer.
However, when the wings are folded The plane is very easy to move, even on
lose gravel with the "large" tail wheel trailer tires. The tail is
elevated on the little trailer of course, so the wings fold and unfold
easy with no down and back force. Wings swing with two fingers. Gas does
not run out of gas caps if the tanks are near full. The tongue of the tail
wheel trailer has a bar extending across it about a foot on each side to
hold onto while moving the plane - works great.
The tongue of the small trailer clamps on a hitch ball mounted to the
front frame of the enclosed trailer so it is locked in position while
bouncing down the road. The plane's tail wheel is pinned into a socket so
it can't move either. And since I siphon gas out of the wings before going
out on the road for long distances or on rough roads, the wing tanks are
about at the perfect angle for siphoning when the tail of the plane is up
on the trailer. I swing one wing, start the siphon on that side while
swinging the other wing, then siphon the second side while installing the
wing support struts.
This sounds time consuming but I can pull the plane out of the enclosed
trailer, tow it thru the back gate of the nearby airport, swing the wings
into position and be ready to fly in 12 minutes make it 15 if I need to
add gas.
The prop with a 912 does not rotate while towing.
I know I gotta get some pictures up.

Sounds like a great setup. My wife and I like to travel and camp. We have horses
so use a pickup and 8.5' camper. I would like to do the same with my Kitfox
as SE Utah is close by and a great place to camp & fly. My plane is now set up
in the tri gear configuration and I just haven't been able to figure out the
best trailer design/towing configuration. I'm just a little frustrated with the
whole idea.
