7 For Sale Put this beautiful aircraft on floats. I have a set of Full Lotus 1650 straight floats rigged and ready for a Kitf ox 5=2C 6 or 7 available for $3900. They have been flown 2 summers under my Kitfox 5 and are in excellent condi tion. I'm selling them to move to amphibious floats. Joel Mapes=2C Kitfox 5 912 ULS

When early Kitfox fabric (wing envelopes) were installed I seem to recall that a strong adhesive was not applied to the wing rib surfaces prior to installing the fabric envelope. repairs were a different matter requiring adhesive. Is this wrong? BJ

I have no experience with the envelopes, but covered two Model IVs with the Polyfiber system, the fabric was attached with the adhesive you mention - Polytack. My guess, and strictly a guess, if you were to use a sewed envelope, you would paint the capstrip with Polytack, allowing it to dry, then position the envelope taking it to the first shrink temperature, then rub all rib capstrip surfaces with a rag saturated with MEK to reactivate the adhesive then take to final shrink temps. I seem to recall an envelope technique in the covering manual. I am awaiting a departure at IAH for SFO or I would check my manual.
