      I'm checking in too. I have a Fox 4 912UL with a 4 stroke engine and a car
      with a 2 stroke (63 SAAB 96).
Just changed the hoses out in the 912.....not fun !

Yes, Those 912's seem to be well liked. They are light weight but still
require a reduction box. They are a
      hybrid engine.

      Good morning Kitfoxer=99s
I have been monitoring and using this list since the early 90=99s and
used it a lot during the building of my Model 3 with 582 engine.=C2- So
far I have about 1100 hours on the model 3 and find it the most enjoyable a
irplane to fly that I have ever been in.=C2- Good to hear that there are
at least a couple of us in North Dakota too.=C2- I flew my Kitfox to all
89 state supported airports in North Dakota in 2015 and got my leather jack
et as a result in the Passport Program sponsored by the state aeronautics c
ommission.=C2- That was a real blast and I learned a lot about my Kitfox
=C2- in the 57 hours and 2638 miles traveled. =C2-=C2-I think I am th
e only one to do that in a home built aircraft with a 2 cycle engine so far
.=C2- I challenge you to do the same! =C2-I have two 582 engines and ha
ve rebuilt both of them so I always have a spare on hand, not that it is ne
eded.=C2- It is probably the most reliable engine I have ever flown behin
d.=C2- Kitfox Tail wheel instructors are pretty scarce so if you find one
, spread the word.=C2- I am happy to offer any advice I can and would be
glad to give a demo flight to anyone.=C2- Young Eagles program is a blast
in the Kitfox, the kids love it!=C2- I recently installed an Appero ESG
ADS-B transponder and I use the Stratux ADS-B dual band receiver.=C2- Wor
      ks great!

Bill, I finally had the engine rebuilt and reinstalled. Should fly it
shortly. My brother and I built a RV-9A and flew it for several years. Sold
it and helped my brother build a RV-10 which we are currently flying. We fly

Pat - I would very much like to spend some time in your neck of the woods. I think
I mentioned I'm originally from Woodstock, IL. Sometimes I get to Poplar Grove
for their annual fly-in. So we might meet there also.

Guy - I agree that there are many ADS-B In solutions. My ADS-B interest right now
seeing if I can comply with the -Out requirements for under $2K as a target.
A single box that combines the GPS and ADS-B together would be even nicer. I
had some hope a couple of years ago when Google announced their interests in
making a low-cost unit for drones. Something like that still might happen. So
I'll just watch for a while and see. If 2020 arrives and I'm not equipped, no
big deal because I seldom fly where I will need it. But eventually. So if any
      input is appreciated.

my hanger room mate has a rv-12 which I have flown, they are great
handeling planes. My opinion is that they are too easy to fly and
ground handle. I like a bit of a challenge and I think thats why I like
a tail draggin beast like the fox. Hows the nice fella at the FBO doing
up there at c-houn that was injured on the 4 wheeler? Shows you can get
      hurt doing anything.

Bill, I finally had the engine rebuilt and reinstalled. Should fly it
shortly. My brother and I built a RV-9A and flew it for several years.
Sold it and helped my brother build a RV-10 which we are currently
flying. We fly out of Calhoun.

We fly
      out of Calhoun.

So if any
      input is appreciated.

my hanger room mate has a rv-12 which I have flown, they are great

ground handle.

Mike, Your the wrong Mike. Mike Perkins lives an hour away by Kitfox. Damn
I just came home from Phoenix. Would have rather gone for a flight with you
than stumble around with my wife's relatives. I'm old but they are dead and
haven't fallen over yet, not to mention humorless and cheap.....well there
were a couple of them that weren't that bad. But, it only takes 1 rotten
      apple to spoil the barrel.
