Jerry, allow me to recap the situation: You have a Kitfox 2 with a 1990
Rotax 582 (presumably air cooled) two-cylinder two-stroke engine, you
measure the exhaust gas temperature at the exhaust header and want to
know whether at 5500 rpm the temperature should be 1050 or 1100 or a
maximum of 1200 degrees Fahrenheit. Did I get it right?

Jerold, You have it right. I have the same engine and gages. I just
remember that I'm good until the gage needles go past each other (1200
degrees) on the way up. I don't know if this explanation makes sense to
you. I think the gages were designed that way on purpose.
