I drive in and set up a tent or sleep in the van......I think the fee is $12.00/nite....for as little as one night or all week. It's about 1 1/2 miles from the main campground/bathhouse area and campground host building. I take my bike along for transportation to and from....or, a shuttle runs continually from 7:30 am until 8:00pm. No reservations necessary......first come, first served. I usually am there on Sunday Morning through mid-week and have yet to see it completely full. Porta johns are set up and a water buffalo for potable water. No other facilities. I have directions from I-4 and as soon as I can locate them, will post to the list for anyone interested. You may find the location on the SNF website also. I may spend all week this year but intend to use the same area again. Easy access back to Lakeland and restaurants for those of us with no RV. I DO think they pump your holding tanks on request like they do at the main campground, but can't swear to it..... One feature worth mentioning....they have a guard and gate that's locked at 8:00pm each evening, preventing you from driving back to the airport grounds. They've always had the guard but locking the gate was due to 9-11. (NO thru traffic anytime without a campground pass or wrist bracelet) There IS a path around the gate for walkers or bikes if you pass muster with the guard. Mike in WV do not archive

Kirk i think that for the best cruse the prop arc should be perpendicular to the air flow. suposing that the top and bottom of the wing deflect the air down at some angle which will be more pronounced at the wing than it will be at the top and bottom of the prop arc. i believe that there must be some compromise in the setting of the angle..... with the prop on the front in clean air it should be a bit easier to decide.... but then on the ga aircraft many of the manufactures will angle the engine down in the front so that there is less trim adjustments necessary between wot and idle. when you figure out the perfect angle let us all know. boyd

Once through the toll booth, turn right onto 572 and proceed to the traffic light. At the light, turn right and watch for the "overnight camping" sign. The campground will be on your left and can be seen from the road and (guessing) approximatey 3/4 mile from the traffic light. Price WAS $12.00/nite....no reservation necessary, no facilities other than the porta johns and a water buffalo for drinking. Stay one night or...? only paying for time spent. Admission bracelets for the grounds and flightlne passes are sold here also. Shuttle van runs to and from the festivities from 7:30am until 8:00pm subject to demand. The shuttle turns around at the camground host building/bathouse area. From there, you can catch a tram to Paradise City or anywhere. Personally, I take my bike and come and go at will. Be prepared for "terrorist" inspections and subsequent delays at ticket booths and guardhouses. If you can visualize where the aircraft camping is on the end of the runway, the campgound is just out of sight to the north from there, or about 1 1/2 miles from showside. I'll be there from the first day through....???? and driving a white '95 Chevy 3/4 ton Sportvan with WV tags....with either a small tent or roughing it in the van. Cooler full of Miller's, pepperoni, saltines, maybe the grill and a steak or two. DON'T miss the corn roast!! It's GREAT!!. Hillbilly Mike
