Thanks, John. If I didn't know better, I'd say you must've flown to Mars, to get pics like that. Coupla things...............is it my eyes, or are the numbers on Dave's C-195 reversed ?? The plane's oriented correctly in the pic, so it's not flipped.............?? Also - trivia - in "The Spires," the museum there has a pic of Clint Eastwood & 2 others perched on top of the far right spire. I think they call it the "Needle" or somesuch. Anyone ?? Anyhow, in that pic, the other 2 looked pretty proud of themselves, but ol' Clint looked distincly uncomfortable. That thing's just shy of 600' high, and the top's less than 10' across. If memory serves, the scene was part of the movie, "The Eiger Sanction." I don't blame Clint; I used to do a lot of rock climbing, 30 yrs ago, but even so, I most certainly wouldn't like to be up there, either. Chicken Lar. Do not Archive. SR3SA2L1@aol.com SR3SA2L1@aol.com/Kolbers: Good point, whatever your name is. Do not have the slightest idea who I am addressing, other than an email address. Your msg should help stress the important point of insuring the subject reflects the content of the msg. Another point is DO NOT ARCHIVE FOR ALL msgs that should not be filed away for posterity or has no future value for the building and flying of Kolb aircraft. The information for converting from 582 to 912 is in the archives. You may have to do a little work to did it out, i.e., use many different search modes to get your information, but it is in there. I, for one, will not take my time to do your research work, nor will I spend half a day explaining something that I and many others have already done. You may have to look for 912 and or 912S installations, engine mounts, throttle controls, wiring, plumbing, etc., but the info is in there. A lot of the information requested on this List is done so before any thorough search/work has been done by the requester. I am not pointing you out as one of those people because I do not know. For sure, I don't even know your name. Reminds me. Does anyone know anything about Captain Ron's status? He won't give out his name either. I stopped off at the Sierra Vista Airport, Arizona, last week to see him. I did not have his phone number with me and the one he had posted to a flyer in the FBO had been disconnected. He did say, before I left to fly west, that he may have to go to Kotzebue, Alaska, to fly this summer. Maybe he has already departed his AO. My planned fuel stops are at Koons (8G8), Holmes county (10G), Packer (5E9), Piqua (I17), than on to Dayton New Lebonan. If any of you are locals to any of these airports, I would love to meet you and would appreciate any advice about flying through your area. Please contact me off list.
