When I had a Zenith 701 w/ Rotax 582 I used Delta Sonic's high-test gas here in
Buffalo, New York with no problems whatsoever. I know it did not have alcohol
but not certain what it used for octane enhancement.
I was not aware of the upcoming NY ban on MTBE but it does not surprise me. This
is the place where legislators actually believe they can tax us into prosperity
and simultaneously ask why everyone is leaving NY.

To list,
Our club experience with Oshkosh (from Chicago area), depart from our local
strips on agreed time and rendevous at Dacy (Harvard, IL) or Galt (5 W of Dacy)
10 S of WI boarder.
We then group up in squadrons of likeness (speed, radios, etc.) fly N to
Dodge Co. (Juneau), call the Red Barn at Oshkosh for a window of time and give
them an account of how many. We might have 2 or 3 Kolbs in the group. We have
several groups going up at different times and we organize this through several
local clubs. Our club is Fox Valley Flying Club (foxvalleyflyingclub.com) and
usually utilize e-mail and club meetings for time schedule. We always welcome
all ultralights to join in. See ya on the south 40...

Jerb,
I must have missed something. I have a piece of 3/4'X3/4" X1/16" alum.
angle that came with the engine kit. I cant figure out what it is needed for.
It is NOT for the muffler mount. It calls for 1/8" angle. Any ideas?
Thanks for your Input in the past, I appreciate
your help.

Jerb,
Never mind, I was just informed by kolb, The alum angle was for the fuel
pump. Must be something new.

John and Possum,
I'm listening.
If the weather is decent I will leave Etowah, TN for Etowah Bend, GA as early
as possible on Saturday morning.
I've been planning and watching the weather forcast for a trip to Lock Haven,
PA next week. I am planning to leave TN on Monday morning, make a quick stop
in London, KY, then on to 4OH4 for the night. Tuesday I plan to leave OH for
Lock Haven to attend the Sentimental Journey Fly-in at LHV. Thursday I will
be leaving LHV, make a quick stop near Philadelphia, then head for home. If
all works out I will have time to take a shower, get a good nights sleep, and
kiss my wife before I head to Tullahoma for their fly-in.

Steven G/All:
Looks like it is a go as long as I can see where I
am going. Will wait for Sat morning to make the
final decision, but right now looks ok, typical
summer weather.
Good to see another Kolber getting out and
flying. You have a pretty agressive schedule, but
I am sure you can do it. Have fun and fly safe.
Looking forward to seeing you Saturday at Etowah
Bend. A neat place to fly, especially the river.
Couple years ago I caught a couple deer standing
in the middle of the river. Startled them. They
stood frozen in place until I had flown by. Could
count the whiskers on their chins.
Had a frightening thunderstorm this afternoon
about the time I got back from town. Terrific
winds, but not much rain. Would not have wanted
to be flying anywhere near this thing. Would have
had my doubts that the traveling tie downs would
have held the Mark III.
Take care,
john h
