Brian , I highly recommend the Lightspeed Solo headsets from Aircraft
Spruce. And the push to talk switch from Radio Shack soldered to a
telephone cord and superglued in the top of the stick.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the reply Frank , sounds like the way to patch those
rips....but what is HS-90 ???
As far as 2 stroke oil.... I was thinking about going with
Klotz KL-216 ,It's not even easy to get here in Mpls. (Tam's Racing Products -20
mi away) , but how easy would it be to find it on a cross country flight ,
since your not suppose to mix oils......Hey John , did you carry all your oil
with you in your" 2 cycle days".....
Otherwise I think I should find out what is a good "POPULAR" oil........Who
knows the answer to that one....a good , popular , oil......

for about $1.20 enough for 3 gallons ...
How many of u guys have snapped off your landing gear ?
How about putting a Skid plate under the fuselage to protect it ...
My buddy snapped his gear off a few years ago so go easy on the flames :

I have used Phillips Injex since 1983, and the only time I ever had a
problem with it was when the oil line from the tank to the pump got plugged
up and it didn't make it to the oil pump. I have found it to be less sooty
and dirty than Pennzoil.
It is easy to find and cheap. Here is a technical article on it.

Mike/All:
With the Firestar/447 and Mark III/582 I had 12
quarts of Pennzoil for aircooled engines on board.
That's about 3 gals. Even then, on flights to
New England and the long way to Oshkosh, I had to
scrounge engough oil to get back to Alabama.
I ran Wal*Mart two stroke oil in the 582 for a
while. Stock piled some and have about 5 or 6 gal
left over. Will take 27 years to use that much
oil in a weed eater. :-)
Take care,

I have the Lightspeed Cross-County (ANR) and the Solo.... My passengers
(poor things) use the Solo and I use the Cross-Country. The ANR is
probably a "minimal" ANR, but it's VERY noticeable, and VERY nice to have,
especially for cross country flights. As for the Solo, I've never had a
passenger complain, so I supposed they're okay, too! But I'd go for the
Cross-Country headset. The ANR doesn't quiet everything, but it takes that
edge off.

Lar.
Looks like I'm a day late (or short) all the way down the line. I missed everybody in Michigan, cause of OSH. I didn't read John H.'s mail thoroughly, and didn't realize he'd be in the UP when he was. I guess I also missed Scott Trask's message, or didn't realize what I was reading, cause I must've gone right past his place. I missed John by about 2 days in St. Ignace, on the UP. It was right about the end of the month when I launched my boat at St. Ignace, and ran out to, and under the Mackinaw Bridge, and out to Mackinac Island. I'm at Bob Bean's place near Rochester, NY now, and having a good visit. Bob also let me use his phone line to publish the latest page on my website. I had a terrific time in Naicam, Saskatchewan................fishing with snowbird neighbors at Lake Deschambault, up near Flin Flon, Manitoba. If you're interested, take a look at it at: http://www.webpictures.homestead.com/03homepage.html . This was among the hardest pages to build. I wanted to put EVERYTHING in it, but had to yield to reality. It also continued the new tradition of gorging myself with food everywhere I went. We had 4 big fish frys in 5 days, complete with fresh garden vegetables. Wonderful stuff...............hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed building it. Gogittum Lar Do not Archive.

Larry B/All:
Alright. We'll try and forgive you for screwing
up this time, but you sure did miss a lot of fun
at Iron Mountain and Oshkosh.
I enjoyed your web pages very much. Brings back a
lot of good memories. I have traveled most of
those places in the Mark III and in the old
Dodge/Cummins and 5th wheel. On my 1994 flight to
Alaska I sat on a little grass airstrip on the
north shore of Green Lake, BC, between Clinton and
100 Mile House. Just me, the airplane and 100
prairie dogs. I had fallen asleep waiting on the
fog to lift while sitting in the airplane. When I
opened my eyes I was being inspected by several
large colonies of prairie dogs. Also familiar
with all the towns on the Fraser from Chilliwack
to Williams Lake and Prince George.
Thanks for the memories.
