Duane,
I'm glad the procrastination finally came to an end. This should have
happened last year but I'm sure glad it finally happened.

Hey, Larry - that is a GREAT offer you are gettin' from Hauck!
Hauling fuel jugs is easy payment.

gas hauling is good..... and that ought to be good for a chance to sit in the plane......now
for a ride what do you think about buying and hauling the gas......

I'm new to the forum....
Where and when is the Monument Valley gathering?
What's the field like?
I might be interested in flying there..... and my plane can handle certain
off-airport scenarios, if necessary.
Thanks,

Dave Paule and All,
Just a reminder, the Monument Valley 2004 Kolb Gathering is May 14-17.
Everyone is welcome, airplane or not, Kolb or something else.
We have 14 airplanes and 29 people that say they are attending so far. I
still haven't heard back from a couple of folks from last year's fly-in.

Gang,
My name is Bob Dalton (super lurker x two plus years) I plan on attending
MV. I will be driving a pick-up truck from central CA. I am willing to
reserve a tent camp site if any are left. I see the fees for a tent site are
for two people if anyone wants to split a site that would be great, let me
know. I can also bring chairs, ice chests etc... and I have a small
portable awning, I think 8x8. Also, I will bring my new Fuji digital camera
thanks for the help "John H." and "Big Lar", and also my digital DV
camcorder to document this "Humungous Gathering". Looking forward to
meeting each and everyone of you!

Do I need to make reservations if I decide to come? I'd be camping at my
airplane tie-down spot.
And yes, I'd bring tie-downs, etc.
If I do it, I'd be arriving Friday but would leave early. And I'd have
room/weight allowance to haul stuff

I ran out of things to fix on my Mk lll this afternoon and got into the
flight test prep mode. After a final inspection by my friend and fellow
builder Rutledge Fuller and a few more fixes he took her out for taxi
testing. Every thing went well so he took her up for a few crow hops
(3,500' of grass) before we ran out of time. She handled just fine but I
wanted to do a little more trimming before we released her for a
complete wring out of everything she is capable of doing. She really
looked great in the air.

Hi Kolbers,
John Hauck and I were communicating via ICQ this morning and he said "I will leave
at 08:50 and be over Raleigh at 11:00." At 11:05 I heard the familiar sound
of Ms.P'fer humming over head! I had to work until 2:00pm but Charley and John
did the BFR thing and had lunch. I arrived home with fresh gas and after topping
her off, we went to look over Ms.Dixie's wings and bare fuselage.
Got a thumbs up from John and some good ideas (as always) and he was off to Gnatt
IAP.
With a pretty stout tail wind, Ms.P'fer was tail up and off in less than 500'.
Made a couple of passes (to make me drool) and up up and away.
Tell ya guys Ms.P'fer gets better looking every time I see her. Can't say the same
thing about her pilot.:-) Can say this though, There is nothing cooler than
watching aircraft take off in your front yard! Especially Kolb aircraft! And
he makes 2 within one week!
I am a happy camper. Well taking my smile to the shop to bend some tubing and drill
some holes. This time not in my fingers:-)

I know the rules about hoaxes, etc., but this is not a hoax. I just went thru
a session with the "Netsky32" virus, and it was a nightmare. I used Norton to
root it out, but it was a long, head-banging process. It came on a txt attachment
from a friend that I've been having an ongoing dialog with. I'm generally
pretty wary of any attachments, but I was 1/2 expecting this one, so opened
it, and WHAM ! ! ! If you get an email from me with ANY attachment, DON'T
open it ! ! ! If I'm going to send an attachment, I'll ask you first and wait

Maybe a Tiger Moth?
http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/de-havilland-tiger-moth-ii.htm
Your plane appears to have an upright inline engine and straighter wings.
The tiger moth has an inverted inline engine and more swept wings... Myabe
a bit rounder in the tail.

Naw it's not a test. a guy that works with my wife is an artist and that's a
reproduction he did from an old photo. He would like to know the aircraft
type to put on the painting, so I was ask to help. Thanks to all that have
replied.

Thanks to all the Kolb Listers for the kind words, encouragement, and
helpful hints I've gotten over the last 5 years and especially during the
last year and a half that I've been building my FS. John, I'll take you up
on that photo offer. Hopefully, I'll have the flight restriction flown off
before the next Kolb Homecoming.
Dave, thanks for the card, it was very thoughtful.

It is a Great Lakes. An antique that apparently you can still get plans
for, a retired Piedmont captain down the road built one several years ago,
I did the EAA technical counselor inspection on it. And it looks like this
could be the picture it was painted from:

David,
The strip can handle just about anything you'd be flying, up to and
including twin Otters (I think that's what they were). Lots of tourist
traffic. Runway is a one-way, asphalt, and slightly down hill.
I don't think they'd let you camp with your plane, but I don't know.
The campground is a quarter mile away and thats where we will all be. Some
are tenting and some have BAMH (Big Ass Motor Homes) as John calls them.
You'd need to call Goulding's lodge to find out.
