Fellow Kolb Enthusiasts,
The last person I have been expecting has checked in for the Monument Valley
2004 Kolb Gathering.
To date, I have 34 people that have committed to gathering at Monument
Valley during May 14-17, 2004. If all goes well, we should also have 15
airplanes to take pictures of and from.
Additional information:
Goulding Lodge website: http://www.gouldings.com/english/index.htm
Airport information website: http://www.airnav.com/airport/UT25
The next time I write about this event should be when we return from it with
some photos.

It is a Great Lakes. An antique that apparently you can still get plans
for, a retired Piedmont captain down the road built one several years ago,
Richard,
I flew a "new" factory version of the Great Lakes in the early70's with
a Lyc. engine. They made a few of them. This one was a full IFR equipped
plane with caging gyros so we wouldn't ruin them when out playing, I should say
teaching aerobatics:-) I filed to VFR on top once in it, just to go IFR in
an open cockpit airplane through about 1000 ft of overcast, was pretty neat.
I flew lots of open cockpit aircraft when I first started instructing, but
had never flown one actual IFR. Neat plane, nice & easy to fly aerobatics.
A friend of mine from back when owns the type certificate for it, and the
Warner engines.
