--> Kolb-List message posted by: "Thom Riddle" <jtriddle@adelphia.net> Warning: Not a Kolb specific subject, but one which will probably interest most aviators. I just watched the best aviating video ever called Winged Migration. It is an incredible 1 1/2 hour long close-up video of migrating birds all over the world. The video photography was amazing. Here is a link to the website about the Sony Pictures production and how they accomplished it. http://www.sonyclassics.com/wingedmigration/index_flash.html Really worth a look for anyone who appreciates our feathered friends who inspired us groundbound humans who require machines to emulate what they do by nature. --> Kolb-List message posted by: "Denny Rowe" <rowedl@highstream.net> For those of us Wellsville bound Fathers Day weekend. I see that there is no fuel available at Shreeveport, Bermudian Valley, or Kampel. Does anyone know if someone has fuel available on the field for the event? If not, maybe we could enlist a member or two that plan on driving in to haul fuel for those who will need it. If not, what airports do you locals recommend for buying fuel? --> Kolb-List message posted by: "johnjung@compusenior.com" <johnjung@compusenior.com> Group, The hang from the root tube method would work to determine the balance point, as long as the airplane hung at the same attitude as described in the instructions. If it were not at the right attitude it would give an error. To me, it doesn't seem easier than the conventual method. I bought four bathroom scales from Walmart for $24, and used the digital scale from my bathroom for the tail. John Jung Firestar II N6163J

So in a pinch we can fuel up there. I would appreciate any auto fuel (87 to 94 octane) you can bring for me to buy so as to avoid 100ll if possible. Just bring a can of whatever grade you use in your car so if we get weathered out or are otherwise unable to get there, you can just use it yourselves. Any others planning to drive in that could haul a can please do likewise. I hope to fly a ton while there and will also be happy to give rides to those who need a Kolb fix. Also, I am sure others will need fuel also. Linda and I are planning on arriving Friday afternoon and leaving Sunday afternoon. My cell phone number is 724 448 8105, Lindas is 724 882 2751 Thanks, Denny Rowe

I would assume they will again. Also there is a gas station right next to Smoketown Airport and folks there will help you out to get auto gas on your flight to or from Homers. Will be updating the list of Homer fly-in participants after the holidays. Also will be checking with Homer about times and such. Terry - FireFly #95

It was built nearly five years ago with a 447, taxied, but never flown. I've since put a couple of local flights on, within site of the Winter Haven Airport. It's pretty light on wing loading, feeling perky, in any wind or light thermal activity, but great climb performance and visibility... I'd like to hook up with any flyers in the Central FL area. --> Kolb-List message posted by: "Chuck Davis - Comcast" <davis207@comcast.net> I plan on attending and have bunkhouse reservtions Friday and Saturday night. Is anyone compiling a list of those expected? I know some folks were planning on joining up for the last leg in Friday morning from Smoketown. Last Sunday I got back in the air for only the 3rd time this year. (Nasty weather in the Northeast). Flew down an hour to Cross Keys NJ where Bill Varnes EAA chapter put on a heck of a pancake breakfast. Bill does some mean eggs! The airport looks to be doing OK and the skydiving school accross the runway is doing very well. Since last summer, they've built new outdoor decks, opened a skydiving equipment store and re-built and expanded the "Cut-Away Cafe." With so many closing, it's nice to see a small airport doing well. --> Kolb-List message posted by: "Fackler, Ken" <kfackler@ameritech.net> Well, gentlemen, after a final inspection and a lucky break in the weather, I got the Mark II back in the air this evening. Nothing radical, just a couple of circuits around the pattern. But nothing broke and nothing fell off, so I guess the repairs are a-ok. Again, thanks to all for the support and offers of assistance. -Ken Fackler Kolb Mark II / A722KWF Rochester MI

--> Kolb-List message posted by: "Dan Charter" <lndc@fnbcnet.com> I just got back from a great flight over to a flying buddy's house in Zim MN. It takes me 35 min. to get there. The air was smooth and cool. Most of the flight is over farm land which is not the case where most my flying is done. He fired his Preceptor pup with a 1/2 VW and followed us(Firestar & Himax) about 10 miles before he went back home. At 9 AM the air was real trashy but the evening air was fantastic. The storms will be here tomorrow. Bummer Dan Charter Firestar 1 Do not archive
