Good Morning All,
I just got my used 912 installed and fired it up about 3:30am. Very
exciting to hear how quiet this thing is. Thanks to those who encouraged
me to keep it and sell the 582. Maybe I can get motivated to get those
wings covered now. I was thinking of having Brian cover them for me as
my time is very limited, however this 912 project put a hurtin on my
walking around money so I may have to suck it up and do it myself. He is
very busy now anyway.

MKIII/912
PS the 582 is still available. $3900.00 carbs and exhaust but no box.

It is time to change plugs on my 377 FS and I have no service documentation on
this engine. I have found the 447 engine manuals online and they indicate a spark
plug gap of .020". Do any of you running the 377 know if this is also correct
for the 377?

Hi, I've been having one heck of a time getting a manual with exploded views with
part numbers from Kolb. For some reason there isn't a serial number on the
root tube. Kolb won't send me anything because they're afraid that I'll build
a plane from scratch. I can see their point but this is a "85" original FS 1.
The original owner is from Atlanta. An Air Canada pilot. If you're on this list
please contact me. I need the numbers. I want to make sure all is in order on
the plane and replace parts when needed. It's a great flying plane and want
to keep it that way.

Maybe you could take some photos of the plane and send them to Travis as
proof of actually having one.

I think Costco will have a deal on NIMH batts & charger, normally abt
$20, but with coupon $15. Will ck and send date(s) later. It has four
AAs and two AAAs with charger for four (max) at a time.

All NiMH batteries were not created equal....after some disappointment with
the lasting power of a nikon digital cam, I procurred some 2200 mAh,
brand name Powerex. Much improvement. Bought em online, if anyone
is interested in the (good, prompt) source, contact me offlist. -BB

Hmmm... Does the back seater need to keep his back muscles/tendons,
teeth -)
If you're putting an N number on a new one, the inspector probably won't
issue an a/w certificate without one for both seats.

Hello all,
I see where the stock carb setup defaults to full throttle. Why is this?
The 912 I got used was modified to be idle by default. I could not find
any info on this in the archives. Thanks

If the cable breaks, you keep on flying. With default idle, you don't.

Lar,
I dont usually chime in But......... What happens if it defaults
to wide open throttle and you are not in possition to take off yet?
Nose over? Hummmmm Which is better. Guess it depends on where you are at the
time. It would be scarry on the ground in a firefly. Do Not Archive
